Methadone is a synthetic opioid medication that is used primarily for the treatment of opioid dependence and chronic pain. It is a long-acting medication that works by binding to the same receptors in the brain that are affected by opioids like heroin, morphine, and oxycodone. Methadone helps toprevent withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings in individuals who are addicted to opioids.
Eleven years ago, after getting back into mt biking for a couple years, I decided to buy a new MTB. Compared to the 13+ year old 26” hardtail the full suspension 29’er was like cheating (totally appreciated cheating).
I told my wife, “Now that I’m 53 this will probably be the last bike I'll buy”.
There's been a few new mtb and fat bikes since then. 😉
Just bought my first gravel bike today. It's not that I’m going to stop mt biking, but I'm interested in exploring, maybe some bike packing, but certainly long meandering rides on gravel roads and woods trails in #NH and #VT.
My last employer UVM is hiring a FT lecturer in communication design! I absolutely loved working for this university, the employer benefits matching and healthcare are excellent, and you can take courses for free :) Plus, Burlington #VT is the perfect mix of lil city surrounded by heavenly nature. Was really hard for me to leave here to go do my PhD, and I still visit often 🏞️ Worth checking out if you're looking to #GetFediHired in #design#communications#academia
Popping in to celebrate that the #Vermont#RealEstateCoop purchased our first multi-family apartment building at the end of 2023!
We'll be spending the next few months getting the systems in place to be a residential property manager (we already had a commercial space), then starting to scan the market for opportunities to grow our mutual housing snowball...
As day breaks, roads are flooded, schools are closed or delayed and emergency shelters are open. The latest flood event in #Vermont is on a different scale compared to July, but the impacts are real and frustrating for communities that once again are facing clean-up.
It really doesn’t matter how many times, how often, or how badly #Vermont#floods, people have proven they aren’t going to change their lives. #Vermonters are wedded to irrationally nostalgic sentimentalism, fossil fuels, and pastoral delusions. Only once these fantasies are completely destroyed by Mother Nature and they are forced out of their homes by #climate#disaster will the people of #VT begin to change, at which point, it will of course be far too late. We must make land common property.
Was supposed to work with clients in #Waitsfield#Vermont today, but stopped in #Waterbury#VT due to car issues. With all the rain last night and this morning, there's a floodwatch and the #WinooskiRiver looked high, so figured I'd stay here and handle things remotely.
It has now stopped raining, but it's already at moderate flood level:
For people following the shooting of three Palestinian-American college students in Burlington, Vermont last night, VTDigger is a reliable independent local news source and it looks like they’re updating this story
The last time I tried a #running steak in January 2020, I got eleven days in before I got COVID.
Almost four years later, I'm finally feeling up for trying again, aiming to hit at least a mile every day between US Thanksgiving and New Year's Day 🤞 #RunAmanda
Because of changing life circumstances (my partner going into assisted living, me moving to a new apartment) we're needing to re-home our 2 dogs.
This is really, really hard. Luckily one of them is going back to my GF's ex-husband (which is an excellent thing) but I need to find a new home for Bella.
She is a darling wire-haired terrier/dachshund cross. She's incredibly sweet with us and very attached and affectionate (really, she's like a cat sometimes), but she is quite nervous and anxious around new people, even ones she has met several times.
I've been working with her & a dog trainer and I am very optimistic she's going to get more comfortable and sure of herself. She's responded really well to clicker training, and she's very food motivated!
I am willing to drive ANYWHERE in New England to help find a good home for her (hey, I offered to drive 1/2-way across the US to get our other dog back to her old person in CA!).
