Back to the grind, #today. I am still getting used to the shift in my mind over the last few days. My usual morning anxiety, especially at the start of a fresh work week, was still present but more attenuated and easily managed.
I managed to get out for my first run of the week. The sun is still brilliant and I hope to enjoy a little of it amongst my 1:1s and other meetings.
Good morning! It's a day that I can keep the windows open a little longer than usual. The humidity is low and there's a nice breeze blowing.
Top of the to-do list is to ice my daughter's birthday cake. As is fitting for a middle child, her birthday is almost overlooked in favor of the Memorial Day activities. But attention must be paid + making a cake is an easy task.
The sun is still low enough that if I head outside now I've got shade and cool temperatures, so that'll be first. #Today
Good morning, lovely people! #yoga and walkies have been achieved and the caffeinating process has begun. How is it that today's to-do list is the same as yesterday? Mending, assemble a PDF pattern, perhaps even sauce for pizza later in the week. #today
ROFL People are testing my patience at work today, no surprise as it’s a holiday! Makes them extra inattentive and careless about things related to money or pumping gas. As I’ve had to be extra vigilant, I’m feeling ill because of anxiety building up. I will work tomorrow instead of taking a mental health day.
As a good thing about inner growth is being able to dial back the manic energy that anxiety can bring to the foreground (never completely extinguished though). As I use the time getting chores finished to soothe my tattered insides, my mental outlook is favorable post shift.

I woke to bright sunshine #today but clouds have already rolled in. I am still trying to decide how I want to enjoy my extra day off. I would like to clear away at least one or two needful things I haven't gotten to this weekend. Otherwise I think I am leaning towards more relaxing and simply following however the day unfolds.

I’ve passed the 25% mark editing A River in Each Hand, but am suffering some burnout. The voice in the back of my head likes to remind me that if I don’t do it who will?
I’m also feeling sorry for myself over a recently passed anniversary & need to get over it.
Scheduling a break in my routine is what is needed, & I certainly have that freedom.
Good morning. Granddaughter is marching in the local Memorial Day parade, so we’ll be up and out soon. She’s a member of her middle school marching band. For once I’m hoping the cloud cover holds so the temperature stays tolerable.
The rest of the day will be quiet and (hopefully) uneventful.
I was awakened at around 4 a.m. by large raindrops splatting against my window. This settled down into a short rain shower, but apparently enough to finally wash the pollen off my car. It no longer looks like a bumblebee, with yellow on the top and black underneath.
Later on, we're supposed to have heavy thunderstorms, and the word "tornado" was mentioned as possible. Most likely we won't have one of those. Yet I am increasingly unsettled by the fact that the weather app I use now lists how many people in the US died from weather-related incidents every day. Climate change is getting more and more frightening.

My phenomenal mood continues #today after a wonderfully restorative day yesterday. We spent a lot of time out under the cantilever shade down on our patio.
After a brief storm over night, the glorious weather is back. We have a few weekly chores to tend but should still have plenty of opportunity to enjoy the sun and the awesome, chill vibe we've been enjoying since Friday afternoon.

It’s an informal family tradition that we grill out for the summer holidays of Memorial Day, July 4th + Labor Day and whatever family is in the area shows up.
Everyone contributes, even the grandchild. Her job is to take a count of hamburgers, cheeseburgers +/or hot dogs wanted.
It was a humid and sticky early-morning walk today, but luckily cool enough that it wasn't uncomfortable. I'm looking forward to another quiet day of writing, reading, relaxing, and maybe a few chores.
I am feeling surprisingly well #today after staying up with the #MutantFam for a watchalong last night. Yesterday all around was a stellar day. That momentum is sustaining me nicely this morning.
I am enjoying the relaxing long weekend vibe. I might get up to something creative later. Nice not to feel any urgency to do so.
