"Forster's" terns always strike me as either highly dramatic or supremely comical (and often both at once). I think it's something to do with their Pulcinella coloring? Anyway, here are two of them doing a bit of pantomime atop a buoy on Upper Klamath Lake.
Looking for #ebike recommendations by for my short wife. She’s 4’10” (on a tall day she says), and is looking for something to get her around the city.
A lot of e-bikes tend to be big, heavy clunkers with big batteries. I’ve been looking at the #tern vectron, #BromptonBike c series, #pedego boomerang, and a few other folding and micro bikes.
Common terns, common enough along the North Atlantic ocean shores, though far less common in upstate New York - the only ones you usually see around here are Caspian terns. These guys were much more petite, with lighter bills, longer tails and red rather than black legs. Much less timid too, didn't seem to mind as I drifted by on a kayak. They even had a fledge nearby they were still feeding, great to see!
I always love that @ternbicycles knows how to build bikes that speak to me, as. queer person.

This I believe is a Sandwich Tern (Thalasseus sandvicensis). I took this photograph at the Galveston, dock off of the balcony of a cruise ship. I got several photos, and couldn't quite make out what I was seeing because the birds beak looked deformed. But after fiddling around with this photo and it's clear the bird captured a fish.
Suche ein E-Cargobike oder ähnlich, welches eine Transportmöglichkeit auf dem Gepäckträger mitbringt. Meine Frau hat ein #GSD#Tern . Das ist mir für den Alltag und gelegentlichen Kindtransport jedoch zu sperrig. Eher was in i:sy-Größe mit nem guten Angebot im Heck: Fußaufsatz, Griff zum Festhalten, Sitzfläche aus Holz...
An einer Ampel wartend sprach mich ein Radfahrer auf meine Positionslichter an. Daraus entwickelte sich ein Gespräch, so dass wir uns, die letzten Kilometer nebeneinander fahrend, weiter unterhalten haben.
Das war ein schönes Erlebnis.
Mit #Klapprad unterwegs kommt man oft ins Gespräch mit anderen Menschen. Nicht nur mit denen, die auch #Faltrad fahren, sondern mit allen möglichen Menschen. Besonders in Ländern, wo die Dinger noch selten sind.
Da die S-Bahnen wieder fahren, kann ich auch wieder mit dem #tern#faltrad pendeln.
Mittlerweile habe ich verstanden, wie man Sattelstange und Pedal ausrichtet, damit es kippsicher steht.
Wo es noch hakt: Das Rad im gefalteten Zustand wie einen Trolley hinterher ziehen. Das klappt nur auf kurzen Strecken. Nur wegen 70m aufklappen und schieben habe ich bereits aufgegeben.
Das Rad fährt sich wirklich großartig, nichts gibt selbst beim Wiegetritt bergauf nach, schnelles Tempo damit einfach möglich.
Der Preis für die großen Reifen und die Stabilität ist die Sperrigkeit und das Gewicht.
Wenn man aber nur Freizeit- und Alltagsansprüche (Freunde besuchen, verschiebbare Einkäufe u.ä.) Ansprüche hat und nicht jeden Tag damit pünktlich zu Terminen muss - würde es sich dann lohnen, einen Blick auf Samebike zu werfen.
Themen wären für mich: Software, App-Zwang, Akku Lebensdauer, elektrische Ersatzteile..
