What an event! Completed SMVE 50 miles. I feel proud, grateful and stronger than ever.
Starting at midnight, headlamps on straight into with a 400m climb was quite daunting. Found a good pack to run with. Made our way through the night and as we neared the first aid station witnessed a magnificent sunrise. The day got warmer, and legs got more tired, but found a way to push through and made it in just under 14 hrs.
Monday:
91 seconds of plank
6 km of #running (17°C)
Stepped outside, heard thunder. Four hundred metres into the run, rain. One KM into the run, soaked by the nice cool rain. Had a blast on the short run.
Now, we back up and head off to the forest. …yes, I'm bringing my running gear, just in case the mood hits.
Something totally different on this morning's solo trail run: I didn't stop to take any photos! The few I took were while running. Also, comparing watch vs. phone recording times, see if you can guess which is which (answer in ALT).
Weekly #blog. I’m thrilled to have extra time for #running and #cycling this week, especially since the rain storms politely scheduled themselves to fit my plans
New week, started with 10.62km. today is a day of the accidental PB's (even Strava agrees today) I didn't set out to run a PB, I set out to have an enjoyable morning run.
Took the old phone, today, because I wanted a picture of the sunrise, and also because I wanted to try my new water running belt.
Top tip for the water belt; if you think it's tight enough, then it'll probably need to be tighter - live and learn.
Very proud of my result!!! I did it in 3:45, which is 27 minutes faster than my first #marathon. Weather was awesome, the crowd too. Very big event and the organization was top class.
So fun!! #running#ottawaraceweekend
At the train station starting the trip back home after #rennsteiglauf and a nice morning walk in the sun through the higher parts of Eisenach towards Wartburg. The ICE train is arriving here in a couple of minutes according to the announcement. The app and the email still say my journey was cancelled and I should find alternative solutions. #db#bahn fun continues. 😅 #trailrunning#running
New video: 100km done in my race to raise funds for #MS research -- but I'm still not done, and I need your help! Please watch, donate (if you can) and share!
Managed 40km/1100m elevation in the pouring rain and unexpectedly cold temperatures before DNFing. Absolutely nailed nutrition, hydration, plan, pace, & HR but I couldn't stay warm. Sucks but I'm not built for the cold, I was expecting warmth/heat today. I am rolling into a training block for a 50k in August and wondering if I could fit in a solo attempt at the 80km in the fall. It would be a shame to waste all this readiness.
The DNF is rotting my socks! I am going to call that 40km a last long run before tapering and I will have another kick at the 80km in three weeks!
A very EXCLUSIVE race. One runner! One aid station at the halfway point (Yay fam jam crew!). An out and back along a local trail. The inaugural @ThunderHoneySnow Ultra!
Free registration. Start time before sunrise. GPS watch timing. Race photography by selfies.
12 miles exploring in some parts of the New Forest (in Hampshire, England) that I have not been to before. Warm afternoon but there was a helpful breeze to stop me overheating 👌🏻 Nice trails, some singletrack and some very unhelpful boggy sections. #trailrunning#running
#rennsteiglauf in the books. 🤩
My goal was to enjoy it and experience the atmosphere of these classic and traditional trail race. If everything went good I wanted to finish it below 9 hours. That’s what I hoped for. Didn’t plan for 8 hours. 😳🙈
What a race. After only having it done once I can really recommend it. What a beautiful route. While it is not technical, the constant change in elevation of the undulating course makes it “hard”. As well as it is almost too runable. 🫣😜 Only had 45 minutes of uphill speed hiking or leaving aid stations speed hiking while drinking/eating.
Managed to have even splits for the first and second half. Happy about that.
I am really happy that I focused my training a lot on “rolling hills” and lots of EG, which in Göteborg means lots of change (up and down) in elevation. Undulating like here. 👊
This is what it’s like living in “the shittiest neighborhood in the shittiest city in the world”, according to my screaming American neighbor.
I would have thought such a place would lack tourists due to crime, violence, lack of running water …
These were views on my run and just before/after my run, following her shrieking complaints. Maybe she was mad about the free ceramics classes in the plaza? 🤷🏼♀️🤣 #running#barcelona
