standing & saluting, sam cutler has left the building. the #gratefuldead's chief tour architect from 1970-1974 (& the #rollingstones' road manager in '69), sam helped turn the dead from an underground band into a wild success. a charming rogue & ace storyteller, his memoir "you can't always get what you want" is very recommended. sam was also a regular deadcast guest/correspondent. i'm going to miss him a lot. #deadfreaksunite
The Rolling Stones first performed in the U.S. in 1964. Who then would’ve guessed the band would still be active, relevant and playing an American venue in 2023? The Stones played an intimate show Thursday night in New York City to launch their latest album, Hackney Diamonds, and were joined by none other than Lady Gaga on stage. Mit einer Anzeige in einer Londoner Lokalzeitung haben die Rolling Stones Spekulationen über ein neues Album angeheizt. Es wäre ihr erstes Album mit eigenen Songs seit "A Bigger Bang" von 2005.
We took the canoe, recovered some lost items from up river, caught a fish, burned up two batteries, and I was still paddling most of the way back.
Going to work a little, while waiting on supper, then I might sit around and waste some time tonight. Bother the neighborhood with my tunes. Feeling reckless 😜
I threw a few logs in the fire, it's plenty cold outside, I'd like to keep a base of coal in the stove, just in case.
I should be dressed & outside. I really do hate the cold, but I have some gravel & soil to spread around. If it warms up enough, I'll check the vehicles again. I saw a drip spot on gravel.
Have a most excellent day, eh!

The group Ozzy Osbourne called the "next Rolling Stones"
Ozzy Osbourne had a pedigree as a certified rock god, but he thought these newcomers could have matched The Rolling Stones if they had stayed together.
The first new release from the Stones in almost 20 years. It's catchy, the mix is good, and the video features them singing at various ages in the past, all digitally altered to make it look as if they were singing the lyrics.
Possibly a chart topper if Gen Z move over a little...
Hi-res #AlbumArt for the #RollingStones' Emotional Rescue (1980) album. This is a fun one - Second place on their B-list, right behind Goats' Head Soup.
#GreatAlbums1960s - #RollingStones - Out of Our Heads - UK Edition (1965). Released 2 months after the US version, this LP followed the UK convention of omitting top singles (esp. "Satisfaction") for separate release. The sting of omission is partly salved by "Heart of Stone" and "I'm Free," Jagger-Richard(s) songs that complement the soulful R&B covers at which the Stones were by now expert. Plus, "Nanker Phelge's" loopiest gem, "The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man."
#GreatAlbums1960s - #RollingStones - Their Satanic Majesties Request (1967). Long reviled as a "failed" Sgt. Pepper (which it isn't, being much much weirder), this LP catches the Stones in a state of playful confusion. The blurry "Citadel" sounds like a template for 90s Britpop. Bill Wyman "sings" on the acid trippy "In Another Land." "She's a Rainbow" is the band's best baroque ballad, and "2000 Light Years From Home" rivals early Pink Floyd in the mindfuck space race of '67.
