I was in the mood for some arcade gaming yesterday after work, so I started playing some Gun.Smoke, 19XX, GigaWing, Final Fight on Capcom Arcade Stadium.
Then I moved on to Ketsui Deathtiny on PS4, by Cave and M2, which is exclusive to the system.
It's one of the Cave games I'm not actually good at, but I love it nonetheless and the new modes are just brilliant!
The Deathtiny one especially is actually very easy with a tiny hitbox. So much fun!
With the Limited Run edition of #maniacmansion I finally have a copy of the poster that came either the original release. It is chuck full of hints and funny tidbits. #lucasarts#retrogaming
My local #library didn't have a copy of Jordan Mechner's #book Replay: Memoir of an Uprooted Family, so I submitted a purchase request. I'm really looking forward to reading it.
I'll admit it, I got the idea from someone else on Mastodon, and I can't remember who. Hopefully someone reading this will be inspired to check out their own library. They are precious resources and should be supported with our patronage.
Still one of our fave C64 purchases - a homemade Goldene breadbin with a matching Suncom Inc. thumb-stick (which is detachable). This the best best way to play Wizard of Wor ;-)
The #Atari Jaguar received a fine console port of #DOOM that used BOTH of the Jaguar's main processors to handle the graphics. Typically one processor would handle the graphics and the other would handle the sound.
That's why the game runs so smoothly on the system and why there is no in-game music (only between stages).
It was developed in-house at id Software and served as the basis for virtually all other home console ports moving forward. :atari:
