Beyoncé has millions of fans the world over, and she can add a massive admirer to the list — Sir Paul McCartney. The former Beatles frontman says Beyoncé's cover of “Blackbird” reinforces the song’s civil rights message, “and would urge anyone who has not heard it yet to check it out.” Read more from Entertainment Weekly: https://flip.it/DhfrOf #Culture#Music#Entertainment#Beyonce#PaulMcCartney#TheBeatles
This book by legendary street photographer and occasional musician, Paul McCartney, is magnificent. Included are photos from The Beatles’ first trip to the US. I opened it for the first time to see these shots from Miami. So cool to see Paul’s images of a place I know so well (and such a relatable aesthetic sense). Here’s a sample

I received this book for my birthday from @thebaywindowgirl
It’s a superb collection of photos taken by McCartney during 63/64. He admits he wasn’t trying to be a photographer, rather just capturing the moments. But what moments they are! These portraits of John and George are particularly good, and the one of Jane Asher backcombing her hair is lovely. All taken on a Pentax SV using Kodak Tri-X film. #Bookstodon#BelieveInFilm#BlackAndWhitePhotography#TheBeatles#PaulMcCartney
#GreatAlbums1990s - #PaulMcCartney - #FlamingPie (1997). The Beatles Anthology series/ pseudo-reunion lit a fire under Paul, sustained through this set of new originals more elemental and immediate than he'd sounded in years. "The Song We Were Singing" is starkly beautiful, alluding to Lennon without waxing sentimental, while "The World Tonight" et. Al tapped into a newfound wellspring of timeless Macca melodicism.
"Mull of Kintyre" is a song by the British-American rock band #Wings. It was written by #PaulMcCartney and #DennyLaine in tribute to the Kintyre peninsula in Scotland and its #headland, the #MullOfKintyre, where McCartney has owned High Park Farm since 1966. The single was Wings' biggest hit in Britain and is one of the best selling singles of all time in the United Kingdom, where it became the 1977 #ChristmasNumberOne. https://youtu.be/OrbuDWit1Co
George Harrison released the celebrated album ‘All Things Must Pass’ on this day in 1970.
“Now the darkness only stays the night time
In the morning it will fade away
Daylight is good at arriving at the right time
It's not always gonna be this grey”
Late yesterday night
I saw a light shine from a 🪟
And as I looked again
Your face came into sight
I couldn't walk on
Until you'd gone from your 🪟
I had to make you mine
I knew you were the one
Oh, I would be glad
Just to have a love like that
Oh, I would be true
And I'd live my life for you
So meet me tonight
Just where the light shines from our 🪟
And as I take your hand
Say that you'll be mine tonight #PaulMcCartney #BillyJKramer & Dakotas
