It's the first #Caturday of Pride Month, and I've updated my foster kitty food donation wish list for June! It feels like everyone wants to adopt baby kittens right now but I'm hopeful once food and vet prices start going down there'll be more interest in young adults. I'm neurodivergent, nonbinary and disabled (ME/CFS) and unable to work, and I don't have funds to take care of basic needs outside of what I have for EBT, and so buying household items, pet food and some of the OTC meds I need is out of my reach without help. Title says it all, really. My father's bank was hacked into and unfortunately, we lost $500 in the incident. We are fighting to get it back with no luck so far, we're all disabled, and rent is coming up. My mother and sister both just had surgeries, my dad has MS and my sister is the only one even looking for a job.
Why? Let me explain.
So, apparently I'm now on the verge of losing my job, which is the only reliable source of income. I had an agreement with my boss so he gives me about 12-14 days at work a month, but he actually lowered it to mere 6 this month. I'm also sure I'll be fired next month, if not sooner. Then, there was the rat sickness. It's not yet finished, we did first treatment but it will consume my funds like crazy. It's to save the critter's life, though. And then, I need to see the surgeon. Again. The broken toe nail I was talking about some time ago started to rupture into the left side of my finger. It's swollen, there's pus coming and it hurts like hell. It's also too expensive for my liking. All this happens when I'm closing in on finals in my third year of university education. So that's a lot on my plate. Not only was it difficult to combine the 12-hour and 24-hour shifts at work with day studies, now I almost have no job and therefore no funds left.
