Meta has announced that Batman: Arkham Shadow will be the first big exclusive game for its Quest 3 VR headset.
It’s an important step forward for the device. As @engadget reports: “One of the main reasons it has been difficult to recommend the $500 Quest 3 VR headset over the $200 Quest 2 is a lack of exclusive titles, as most games have to support both models. This means we haven’t really seen the power of the Quest 3 yet, but the tides are turning.”

Posting something a little odd: This is me playing Go Tell It On the Mountain on a mixed reality keyboard using the Meta Quest 3 VR headset. The hand tracking has gotten good (but not good enough to let you play the virtual keyboard freestyle--it only works to follow your hands to the selected music.) I was not impressed with the Oculus Rift years ago, but the new #MetaQuest 3 VR device is pretty cool. Spending a fair amount of time playing with it.

The fuss of putting on the headset is mostly why I don't use mine, but the fact almost all games are $30-40 despite being a couple hours long is part of it too
For years David Attenborough worked with production companies to pioneer high tech: drones, infrared, 3D. Now he has worked with Meta to produce what sounds like amazing original VR content on the Galapagos islands. I hope that this inspires others to produce more.
Working on the Virtual Starship, Comfy Chair edition. This is a seated single user version of the starship that uses Gaia Mission data, hand tracking and mixed reality to travel the Milky Way.
Still looking for funding from a VR company or astronomy institute.
In case there are a few VR developers on here: I have a wrist button (which brings up a wrist menu) working well with my Quest hand controllers. But when I switch to hand tracking, the button gets displaced and rotated. Anyone have a solution?
Testing the Beta of Rube Works VR by @DavidBFox with my Meta Quest 2. The hand tracking control is innovative and it's more fun than using the controllers.
It's also great meet an old friend from the good old times. 😊
So... My older kid just informed me that #Roblox now has a full #VR client on #MetaQuest via App Lab (Early Access basically, if you're not familiar).
This is going to be interesting... If there's a company to watch in terms of building an actual "metaverse" Roblox might be it. I mean it's far from guaranteed, but they have an actual decent shot at it.
I don't have a Meta Quest (or like Roblox) but my kid has one, and he loves Roblox -- this news is probably gonna be pretty big for him and other fans of the game. I posted a thing the other day about how over half of all kids in the USA play Roblox.
