Another iteration of my flow fields generative system. I do intend to fully describe how this works but the blog post timeline is suffering from perfectionism at the moment
For #PrinterSolstice prompt primary colours I combined 3 print media for each of blue, red and yellow. This print is about how fractal patterns appear in nature. I have combined a cyanotype of a fern leaf on Japanese paper, with a red gel print and yellow lino block print of a fractal Sierpiński triangle.
It's #TilingTuesday - today some #polyhedra - here I tile a cube from 8 identical pieces - each one dodecahedron and three halved bilunabirotundas. There are holes in the model, but actually these shapes can tile space.
I painted this one a couple years ago when I was learning about light, shadow and reflection. Notice the green reflected light on her wooden body. I was also studying how to draw the human form, which I found a lot easier to render in cylinders and spheres, and I finally understood how basic mathematical forms, like cylinders, spheres, were the basis of drawing in 3D.
