Médecins sans frontières: «Une offensive sur Rafah serait catastrophique»
L’offensive israélienne sur #Rafah n’est qu’une question de temps: voilà ce que les organisations humanitaires actives dans la bande de #Gaza s’entendent dire par les autorités de Tel-Aviv. Michel Lacharité, responsable des urgences pour #MédecinsSansFrontières, explique la catastrophe à venir.
"These systematic attacks against health care are unacceptable and must end now so that the wounded can get the care they need. The entire health system has been rendered inoperative." Rami, an #MSF nurse trapped inside Nasser hospital, described feeling helpless during a mass casualty event that brought 50 wounded and five dead people to the emergency room at once on 25 January."
Just wow. Our treatment of refugees is so inhumane that Medecins Sans Frontieres (better known for providing medical care in refugee camps near war zones) has felt compelled to spend resources to set up shop in Essex. What a shameful indictment of the UK's inhumanity towards people in need.
When #MedecinsSansFrontieres operates in your country treating #migrants held in camps at military facilities, I think its time to admit both that the country's #migrartion policy is not working, and to recognise that the last shreds of the UK international standing are being trampled on by the #Tories.... so much for 'Global Britain'!
