I make at least one awesome discovery each #BandcampFriday and the first one this time is @notype's album Communication in the Presence of Noise. It's a collection of well-oiled indie-rock-meets-electro bangers with vocaloid-synthesized vocals and a fantastic theme of alt-historical what-if techno utopianism. Good tunes with an accessible, inviting sound.
Apologies for being a bit slack this year, but fear not... THE PODCAST IS BACK! With a bit of a 90's indie-rock vibe.
I also feel the need to apologise to anyone who may have follwed me due to my #TOTP tooting, because the music I play is probably a bit different... #shoegaze#punk#indierock#garagerock#grunge
Hey, look what i found while digging through a pile of rusty tech artifacts at my local anachronism dump! It's what primitive 20th century people used to call a mixtape. Through careful analysis of the magnetic patterns encoded into the layer of ferric oxide on the tape surface, i was able to reconstruct the audio it contains. It's kinda noisy but the music is actually not too bad, i think. But then again, what the fuck do i know about this kind of ancient music anyway...
When most of my friends were spending their time listening to 00s indie rock, I spent a lot of mine listening to J Mascis and company and I don't regret a second of it #nowlistening#music#indierock
#WyattOnTheRadio this week has our new track Stasis and you can hear it and the show today on My Indie Radio. 1800 Central Europe, 0900 here in California https://myindieradio.eu
Anybody ever hear of Atomic Suplex from Croydon, UK? This album '14 Inches of Fist' is from 2015, and I'm just hearing it today for the first time. EVERY track is a ripper. This is a SOLID garage/punk record. I mean, damn! 🔥
I have set the March and April singles up at the Distributors and, as per the usual, have made them available at #BandCamp. Rather than two two track entities at $1 apiece, I thought, what the heck, and made it a $1 four song EP. Track 1: #JanglePop, track 2: #Americana; track 3: #IndieRock; and track 4: #Polka.
Big musical flavor drops by Pomegranate County and you take that to bank. Tell them #ThePomegranateCountyIrregulars sent you for maximum indifference.
Sometimes, when you're looking for something fun to listen to while enjoying the last bit of the weekend, the answer is an album from #Greenland called "Whale Dick" with song titles such as "Hangry Iceberg", "Gay for Satan", "Eat the Rich", and, of course, the title track (featuring throat singing from #TanyaTagaq).
"Arts And Decay" ist eine Band, die ich in den 90er viel gehört habe, von der aber Viele vielleicht noch nichts gehört haben.
Wobei...ihr Song "Mescal" war auch auf dem ersten Zillo-Sampler vertreten.
Und damit gebe ich ab an das #GothDiscoInferno am späteren Abend 🎶 Habt Spaß!
I mentioned this album on Wednesday, but now that it's out and I just listened to all of it, I can confirm that 'The Future is the Pits' is a certified banger. SEVERAL times as I was listening, I was like, DAMN this is catchy! The WHOLE thing is.
If you like fun, raucous bluesy garage rock/punk, Australia's Sick Fizz are definitely for you. What an ALBUM. Another serious contender for my top 20 that I can't currently see something knocking off the list.
Got a good #MusicWomenWednesday for this week. This band is called The Wylde Tryfles, from Bordeaux, France. They have a couple albums out already and a new one coming February 23 called Outta Tyme. It's some REALLY solid garage rock/punk. LOVE her voice.
I was going to wait until next Wednesday for Music Women Wednesday for this one, but I need to talk about this album right now.
'Precious Dream' by Hot Garbage came out today and I just finished listening to it. It's perfect. More than likely will make my top 20 this year unless 20 other amazing albums somehow surpass it. I doubt they will. Both Juliana and Alex Carlevaris sing, they're siblings. It's like psych, garage, post punk, shoegaze? But there's also some wild bluesy and dark country-ish vibes. It's amazing fuckin SONGWRITING is what it is. This is Hot Garbage's second album, now I gotta check out their first.
