"There was no real argument to Sunak’s speech. Nor was there any real rhetorical power. He is a prime minister unfortunately blessed with levitas. It’s almost impossible to take what he is saying seriously.
Least of all in his speech was any policy. Sunak just wanted to spend 10 minutes sharing his innermost fears with the nation without offering any solutions."
This party-appointed Prime Minister, exhorting the British Police to violence against peaceful protestors, is a danger to our democracy, and needs to be shown the door. #Sunak #GeneralElectionNOW
The Tories are only interested in winning. No matter what.
They need to win to stay in power.
They need to stay in power so they are not prosecuted for the crimes they have committed whilst they were in power.
THE #CONSERVATIVE PARTY HAVE ZERO INTEREST IN GOVERNING FOR THE PEOPLE.
Tories on the radio keep blaming "low turnout" for the by election defeats. Which is basically just admitting that they could get people to go and vote for them. Which is frankly not the defence they seem to think it is, given that getting people to vote for them is precisely what elections are are all about!
A thousand years hence, the world will look back on the Conservatives' time in office (under more Prime Ministers than one cares to recall) and say
"This was their finest hour."
Forget the Magna Carta. Forget the Bill of Rights. Peak Tory, they'll say, was their passing of legislation on the committing of offences in tunnels...
Bloody Tories. I hate them and pretty much everything they stand for. We can power the planet on clean energy… it just needs some imagination, long-term thinking, investment and leadership. #ToriesDestroyingThePlanet #GeneralElectionNow
#MichelleMone has "assests frozen"... complains she is being treated like she was "the former Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, after her bank accounts were frozen under the Proceeds of Crime Act"
Oh what a shame 😏
Watching BBC Politics Live and it’s obvious that as John Glen, Paymaster General, is on the programme that a village in his constituency is desperately missing its idiot.
Some of my family vote Tory and I don't know if I can forgive them if they vote Tory again.
It's not about political parties but about an absolute lack of care of the organisations and people of the UK. Favouring rich party donors and ignoring the people.
We all fail if we fail the most vulnerable in society and not only are the most vulnerable being failed they're also being vilified, blamed, and profited from.
