50ml Jamaican Dark Rum, 20ml Lime, 10ml Cointreau, 5 ml dbl syrup, 4 Raspberries, shake, dbl strain, raspberry garnish

Lots of versions, usually with raspberry syrup, rocks, crushed ice and tiki ganish. Tonight, it's more like a Raspberry Daiquiri. Don't you just love late spring, early summer? Cool, drizzle, first summer fruits.

#Cocktail - Strawberry Daiquiri

60ml Light rum, 15ml Lime juice, 10ml dbl syrup, 3-7 small strawberries - small, ripe, hulled, chopped.

Muddle the strawberries with the sugar syrup. Short hard shake. Double strain with a big secondary sieve. Scrape the sieve with a bar spoon to get all the liquid through. Make one a time and keep the first one or two in the freezer. Don't shake too long so it doesn't dilute too much.

25ml Absinthe, 25ml Red Vermouth, 25ml Campari, Orange twist (Psychopomp Absinthe from Bristol, Albury English Rosso vermouth), Rocks, Orange Twist

There's an old Savoy Drink called a Duchess which was equal parts Red & White Vermouth and Absinthe. So this led on to Count Negroni's wife, the Contessa's, version of his famous drink.

There's way too much going on in this dangerously strong drink!

A study in the UK has found that electric cars hit more pedestrians than petrol cars. Mostly because the pedestrians can't hear them. Without victim blaming, perhaps the pedestrians should pay more attention when entering the cars space? That space also contains bicycles and e-scooters which are similarly silent.

As a cyclist it's common to have to avoid a ped who stepped of the pavement into the road without looking. Presumably because they couldn't hear any danger.

50ml Jamaican rum (Appleton's Gold), 10ml Wray & Neph, dash angostura, 10ml Orgeat, 20ml Curacao, 20ml fresh lime juice, keep the husk, shake, big glass, rocks or crushed ice, straw, umbrella, tiki garnish, Spent husk skin up and waaaay too much mint so it tickles your nose, 5 bushy sprigs twisted in the fingers to release the menthol.
