Review for the Japanese version of Doshin the Giant on GameCube from Cube 8 - August 2002 (UK)
While this is not a game for everyone as at times it can barely feel like a game, this remains one of my fondest memories on the GameCube for me. Love Doshin. 🥰
@OutofPrintArchive Wish to god I had the reflexes for this game. I love the vibe, feel and tension but I spend 60% of each race grinding along the walls

I got pretty good at the game back in the day. But yeah, it’s a bit too brutal for me.
I never was able to unlock the AX tracks as one of those last challenges was just too hard for me.
It’s brilliant, but I kinda prefer X if I’m honest.
The original remains my favourite though.
Preview for 1080° Avalanche on GameCube when it was still known as "White Storm", which refers to Wave Race Blue Storm.

@OutofPrintArchive you should post the infamous game informer review, where the text was a glowing write up, but they gave it like a 6/10 solely because they said it was "too kiddy."

Haha, luckily I don't have any of those issues.
I kinda turned away from US magazines when they started going all in on Playstation and downplaying anything Sega was putting out.
The French Joypad and UK CVG were a lot more balanced and nowhere near as biased.
They just recommended good games, no matter what system they were on or which art style they used. 😅
I wonder if it might have lost a little of its magic these days as there's been so many videos and articles about what the game did and how it plays with the player perception.
But still. Really unique.

I fired up my GameCube Animal Crossing game a few years ago and the animals were very cross with me for not talking to them in 97 months.
