Wow. I guess I was wrong when I said that we have well and truly enough #Obsidian how-to tutorials out there. Either that or this person doesn’t have the faintest idea how to google properly.
Decades ago I floated between Things, OmniFocus, and Org mode. Neither commercial app (both very good!) could ever work EXACTLY how I wanted—which is crucial for PKM/GTD....
But I'LL HAVE TO LEARN EMACS LISP...!
It was worth it.
Thank goodness I was far enough along in career and life to see the long view.
If you're in a career where building your own tools matters at all, here is the secret: INVEST IN CUMULATIVE INCREMENTAL GAINS OVER THE LONG TERM
Effectively planning and managing a complicated life can be made easier and less stressful if you adopt approaches like Kanban and Getting Things Done.
@jeff
@fedieltern
@omnivore I love you! Just tried to visit the incredibly detailed #PlainText#GTD blog post at katanist.com, only to find it's vanished. Pwoof! Gone.
Did a search on my saved articles on Omnivore, and there it is!! Yay! I don't follow its principles exactly, but this is one post I've referred to many times over the past few years. Might #sketchnote it one day.
This is your friendly reminder to Save That Site you love, NOW.
@geerlingguy I really love the natural text recognition from #todoist . Having around 280 tasks neatly tidied and handled with getting things done #gtd across work, house and personal stuff. Project documentation stored elsewhere
I felt like I was on a roll on work topics on Friday, but #Monday morning it's always slow to re-engage.
Having a verbose notes file on a project-by-project basis is certainly worth the effort.
Besides important technical detail, they're often kind of stream-of-consciousness blather, but that's useful in resurrecting your mind-set from the last work session.
Also fahre ich mehrgleisig. 1/x

Viimeinen lomapäivä, eli on hyvä hetki suunnitella loppuviikon kalenteri.
Ajanhallintametodini (Rollen produktiivisuusmalli™) on kuin yhdistelmä David Allenin GTD:tä, säntillistä aikatauluttamista Leo Straniuksen tyyliin ja antisäätämistä Anna Perhon tyyliin (mainiot kirjat heillä btw).
To start out 2024 I will be going back to analog with the #bulletjournal
Despite some parts of it not working for me, looking back on ‘23 it IS what worked best for my brain. Master lists and inbox will likely be #orgmode#notebook#gtd

Intro: I have been working in IT for 20+ years. Last few years in IT Risk & Security.
I am an introvert. So while I do enjoy interacting with others, I need time to wind down & be on own every now and then.
Since Feb '22 work & private life has been greatly impacted by catching COVID. Up till today I have not recovered and am unable to work or have an active social life.
Congratulations to @kcase and the team at @OmniGroup on the release of @OmniFocus 4! Been on the betas since the beginning— and on OmniFocus since version 1.7. Indispensable software. #GTD#productivity
I had a good weekend for GTD*. Did a lot of organizing, some website designing & writing. Most importantly I set up my notebooks for the week so I have structured plans. And I sewed a button back onto my pants, that's probably number one on the list. #GTD
