#NeoFinder 8.5 improves #cataloging of MKV videos by reading additional #metadata, such as an embedded cover art, or film related information, such as artist, or year data.
This had already worked for more common #movie container formats, such as MOV and MP4, but now for #mkv containers and others.
Just finished cleaning up the indie film budget template I use, and I want to hear your feedback! It includes 15 budget sections, split across five categories to support phased funding. Plus, an executive summary, 1-point funding outline, and 16-point revenue outline. Grab a copy if it sounds useful, and let me know what you think!
Trying to find examples of low-budget indie features (in English) that made waves and were then remade with an A-list cast. The only ones I can find are foreign-language adaptations. Any ideas?
The built-in #video#converter in #NeoFinder 8.5 can now "pass-through" both or either Video and Audio, to move the selected data unchanged to the exported movie file.
Check out the NeoFinder Users Guide for more details!

@virtualbri
Bet they won’t take this as any kind of sign and double down instead of using this moment to reflect on how the movies have degraded in quality over the years.
New filmmaker learnings: On our shoot last month for @missionplanmovie I thought it would be a good idea to run through individual lines in an extreme closeup, so we had the coverage. Editing nightmare! It's like a 50-second cut with lines from all over the script. Rookie move, never again.
'SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE and the Real Genius of Director Richard Donner'
“SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE is one long series of technical and even emotional magic tricks, making it the CITIZEN KANE of super-hero films - but you rarely notice one is being pulled off right in front of your eyes.”Because of Donner’s choices, the film remains a cinematic onion that relentlessly reveals secrets to anyone willing to look for them.”
I love FMV's in games, plain and simple. I think they're so rarely deployed that at this stage it's almost always to great effect. Sam Barlow is the obvious one that comes to mind (Her Story, Telling Lies, Immortality) but there are also some famous examples from the past such as the often campy/ham-fisted but always...

The Massive Metal Guitarist Who Also Helped Create Some of The 90s' Best Movies
Adam Jones of TOOL is a pretty talented dude. Not only did he make some of the best music of the 90s (and beyond), he also played a huge hand in some of the decades' best cinema.
I'm available as a video and photo editor. Hit me up if you need help with post-production, especially on erotic/porn projects!
My special interest is color grading. Other things I can do well include:
Complex image retouching, cutting long footage down to the good stuff, multi-cam A/V editing, noise removal, censoring, finding royalty-free music.
I'm looking for an editor and colour grader to help with a comedy short, about 6 minutes long. All well-lit interior footage. I did the editing myself and I'm not happy with it, so I think it will look better in my directorial portfolio if I have a pro do it right. Please send past work and estimated rates to ashley@hightailentertainment.com.
What's hilarious about Star Trek Generations is that the stellar cartography set must have been prohibitively expensive, but it's completely redundant. They only use it to look at star charts, there's no reason they couldn't have done this in the observation lounge or on the holodeck.
Speaking of which, I wonder: how do they do starship displays these days?
Is it pre-recorded live video and the actors have to play along with it?
Ís it a slideshow of sorts and someone sits off-screen and presses Next when the actors touch things?
Is it interactive (a HTML file or a program) and the actors' inputs actually trigger movements on the screen?
