This week we finish off the PS2 Tenkaichi trilogy with my personal favourite of the bunch. It's a game I spent literally hundreds of hours playing as a teen, and perhaps the most detailed, granular Dragon Ball simulation ever - Budokai Tenkaichi 3!
2k written this morning. The heroine is fighting an internal battle instead of an external one, but that's fine. Tomorrow we can move back to the external battle.
my trick for hand-to-hand is to find MMA write ups and riff off those.
That's a good tip. I'll use it.
I don't fight either, but for my prizefighter, I learned how to train online including video. I didn't need to remember what a gym smells like. I even bought a speed bag. You'd be surprised what training for punches and defense teaches you as a writer. Watching some fights gives you the general banter,, the physicality, and the blood... then (to quote @orionkidder) I make shit up.
I'm writing mixed gender mixed magical martial arts MGMMMA (as an equalizer for a woman) that doesn't include weapons. As close as I get to weapons is a well foreshadowed jackknife scene. It shows up incidentally for 90,000 words until the heroine throws it and it sticks in the antagonist's chest, before she magically shoves it in. I learned from the internet that knives tend to bounce off ribs (as do slower bullets) unless the knife is horizontal. That the MC decides to heal the antagonist just makes her thoughts more interesting. She realizes she's a murderer if the person dies. Faced with the unfathomable, she capital-C Changes.
I've now spent almost 40 hours with #Tekken8, but unfortunately there's hardly anything left to do offline.
Even though the ghost mode enhances the gameplay, I miss unlockable items for character customization. In #Tekken7 there was still the Treasure Mode for unlockables and long-term motivation.
Nevertheless, the online battles work well for me and the motivation to continue playing with my main fighters is quite high 💪
I've been playing #Tekken8 exclusively for the last few days and I'm back at it again. At the moment I'm mainly playing online with #Law and #Nina. I'm not too bad with the two of them, especially in the ranked games :blobaww:
Of course, I've also revamped my favorite characters a bit. Law got the #KungFury outfit from me again.
