The interesting thing about the EU's Digital Markets Act is that it's "we're just going to treat all the biggest American tech companies as monopolies" as a law. It's both unprecedented and amazing that the Biden administration sleepwalked into it.
This is like the EU's version of the TikTok divestment law but killing multiple birds with one stone.
The #Chinese counterparts are insignificant abroad, except for #ByteDance, #TikTok's parent company.
Given that #Germany's #SAP has a 99% global market penetration rate* in #ERP system of international companies, it would need to be counted in as well, if it weren't in the #B2B market only.
The same is true for the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd.
@thibaultamartin Is there much more out there beyond #CiviCRM that is FLOSS and actively developed? Unless you count open-core (and super costly) #ERP suites like #Odoo in your search for non-profit #CRM solutions…
I don't have an immediate need, but I'd be interested to read the results of your landscape study.
I'm half amused and half disappointed to find the #ERP hashtag on Mastodon is almost exclusively used for Enterprise Resource Planning software and not "Erotic Role Play" which most people seem to assume I mean when I use the term
Guess that's the average Mastodon user age showing
In German iX magazine 2023/02 there was a market overview of #OpenSource#ERP. When appling the criteria "accounting included", "taxes and chart of accounts for D", "active German community", "no compulsion to commercially support", then apparently only two remain: #Tryton and #ERPnext. Whereas on the later article says: not easy to install. https://www.heise.de/select/ix/2023/2/2229313092274680663
IMHO Odoo is not a good choice since upgrading between major versions is not supported in the community edition. @mmu_man@RL_Dane
@lefuturiste Is it this kind of #FOSS#ERP#CRM you’re looking for? I have no experience with it, but I see #CiviCRM lets you, among other things, “manage membership programs where individuals can sign up and pay for their membership online, receive automatic membership renewal reminders, and receive member-only emails”: https://civicrm.org/explore-civicrm.
new here, want followers/friends
i want elon musk to wither into a 5 pound husk of material that looks kinda like a wasps nest

I work at a small business ~20 people and we're looking for a self hosted solution to our resource planning software. We have a huge variety of job scopes, skillsets, equipment, and technicians. The owners have a hard requirement for self hosting due to the variety of clients we work for who want to know their data stays within...
¿Alguien todavía usando Openbravo ERP Community Edition?
"Openbravo has reached an IP licensing agreement with Fut IT Services, which has been an Openbravo Official Partner for many years, to provide continued support and evolution of these core-ERP modules.
Fut IT Services will evolve, commercialize and maintain the new product under the Etendo brand, which inherits all the core ERP functionalities of Openbravo ERP. It is important to note that Etendo and Openbravo are independent companies and products."
Por favor, avisen si están interesados en manetener esta excelente aplicación con vida y de código abierto por muchos años más.
Por favor circular (boost) con otros que también podrían estar interesados.
Any folks still using Openbravo ERP Community Edition?
Having used it for more than a decade, I don't feel ready to let it go.... is there any community out there prepared to keep it alive?
I wonder what this statement could mean with respect to an 100% open source application? - nothing good, for sure:
"Openbravo has reached an IP licensing agreement with Fut IT Services, which has been an Openbravo Official Partner for many years, to provide continued support and evolution of these core-ERP modules.
Fut IT Services will evolve, commercialize and maintain the new product under the Etendo brand, which inherits all the core ERP functionalities of Openbravo ERP. It is important to note that Etendo and Openbravo are independent companies and products."
Please shout out now if you are interested in keeping this good piece of software alive and open source, and please boost to others who may be interested too.
