Wait, why is O'Brien gleefully engaging in cosplay as an RAF fighter during the Battle for Brittain in #DS9's episode Home Front? Mere moments later, he confirms that he still has family in Dublin.
Did the Irish Unification of 2024 involve rewriting some history for propaganda purposes?
O'Brien's racism in #DS9's Hippocratic Oath may very well have made the Dominion War inevitable. It's a good thing he didn't already learn that racism is bad in two other episodes of DS9 before this...
Hanging out with a friend, officially my first social Saturday in years (though we've hung out on weekdays before). Trifecta of great convo with a fellow introvert, great food and bookstore met.
Top-notch instant ramen and buffalo wings for dinner while watching DS9 s3, "The House of Quark" which had me laughing so loud.
The fact that it's a Saturday Night and I'm about to crawl into bed with a book.
In #DS9's The Die is Cast, Garak quotes Julius Caesar saying "I'm afraid the fault, dear Tain, is not in our stars but in ourselves". There are a bunch of other parts of the episode that make it clear that it's a reference to Julius Caesar too. But there are ways that you could read it to be a reference to John Green's The Fault in our Stars (if you just ignore the IRL time travel necessary for that to work).
I now choose to believe that Garak is just a fan of YA lit.
I'm convinced Bashir just has bad taste in literature. Garak just described a Cardassian enigma tale, their version of a whodunit novel. Bashir says he finds them boring because you know the outcome ahead of time: everyone is guilty. Garak counters that the interesting part is figuring out who is guilty of what and why they did it.
That sounds awesome. Bashir probably whined about Glass Onion too.
The scene with Kira and Bashir making out in #DS9's Fascination is weird. Alexander Siddig and Nana Visitor fell in love, got married, and had a kid while on the set. You'd think their psychically induced make out sesh would have at least some chemistry.
Garak: My dear doctor, they're all true.
Bashir: Even the lies?
Garak: Especially the lies.
Garak really is one of the best parts of #DS9. The Wire is another stand out espionage thriller/character piece. Coming off of Profit and Loss, it's like the man can do no wrong.
I'm on my #DS9 rewatch. Profit and Loss really is one of Trek's best episodes. Very little sci-fi but it's an excellent character piece and espionage thriller. It's the first Garak episode where we start to get answers about what his deal is. It's also one of the few Quark episodes where we see there's more depth to him than just being a space troll.
The music of Big Thief and Boygenius. Also, Kim Gordon is truly the GOAT.
Thinking about #DS9 -- I'm really hooked on this rewatch!
A yummy lunchbox with my ayam masak lemak cili api (after such challenges inc. having to cook it twice!), rice, sambal cencalok and bendi/kacang panjang masak belacan.
I don't know if I'll stick with it but I just started a #DS9 rewatch. I still hate Keiko. Yeah, yeah, I know it's a red flag to say that but the arrogance of "I'm bored and even though I have no background in teaching, I'm going to develop a comprehensive curriculum for a wide array of different species from cultures I also know nothing about." is so off putting.
It's not the actress's fault. She has to work with awful scripts and characterization that make her little more than a source of trouble for O'Brien (who I'm also not a fan of). But it's so grating that the teaching thing is what's supposed to make her endearing.
I'm not as magnanimous as Shives is in this review, but despite my (very few) misgivings about the episode of #DS9 it is one of my favorites.
It would be a fav even if it were far worse because of one line: "I haven't done anything wrong and I won't be hounded by you and your soulless minions of orthodoxy."
I can't count the times I've shouted about the 'soulless minions of orthodoxy' in a rant about who ever is pissing me off at that moment!

Paris takes his obsession with rebuilding old rust buckets a little too far.
TOS (8ET): The Empath
TNG (9ET): Shades of Gray
DS9 (10ET): The Way of the Warrior
VOY (11ET): Alice
ENT (midnight): Breaking the Ice
@MirrorAyako@allstartrek ''The Way of the Warrior" can be summed up with the close-up of Worf's first step onto #DS9. I mean, it's not really his first step. He was there as part of the Enterprise crew, but you know what I mean.
welp as far as I am concerned the Tzenkethi are screwed - The Defiant going to go in there and wipe out all of them. and I for one. hope it's the ugly insect ones.
Regarding ST:DS9: I watch it as a teen in TV but have probably never seen the dominion war. Can s/o point me to where I should start to rewatch DS9 again? Is there a guide somewhere what's worth rewatching also? #stds9#startrek#ds9
