Didn't know about this one but, who would have thought somebody would even consider playing Pictures at an Exhibition on an acoustic guitar? It is quite outlandish and impressive!
Modest Mussorgsky (1839–1881)
Pictures at an Exhibition (1874)
Kazuhito Yamashita, guitar
Let’s see if the Fediverse works for this kind of stuff:
I’m looking for a teacher of classical guitar. Has to be San Francisco. Prefer someone who specializes, too. (Not just someone in a band who also owns a nylon-string guitar and can play Malageña.)
Somehow this musical nostalgia blast from my childhood past popped up on one of my feeds recently. Though I don't remember this particular video clip from a Smothers Brothers show, my whole family were big fans of their music and show back in the 1960s. The cheeky/trippy way they staged this mime-for-the-tape performance is so typically clever. And so dang '60s.
Update of my 🎙 Author #introduction since my debut novel was finally published on the 7th of January, 2024.
Hi, I'm Anita. I used to be published as Nin Harris and under that name I have had fiction and poetry published in Clarkesworld, Strange Horizons, Uncanny Magazine etc. I write baroque planetary romances, dark fiction, Gothic fantasy, #domesticfantasy with #mermaids and #darkacademia settings. I have just published my debut novel, #Watermyth and am working on its sequel, #Rosemirror. I am also a literary academic, a musician and a composer. I have a great deal of imposter syndrome about all of the above, particularly about calling myself a musician and composer given I'm only getting a formal education for most of my musical needs in the past four years (apart from #classicalguitar for which I've had classes off and on since 1995). But I have been making music/composing my whole life.
I am close to having a decent workflow for the study of #classicalguitar repertoire in #obsidian. Since one of my goals for ‘24 is to write more this might turn into a post.

Watch: Indian Politician Plays IRON MAIDEN's 'Wasted Years' On Guitar
A new video of Conrad Sangma, the Indian politician who is the 12th chief minister of Meghalaya, a state in northeast India, playing the classic IRON MAIDEN song...
Last night I also found out on insta that @gitarra has passed on from her 5-year battle with Cancer. She was always so kind and supportive of women musicians and did so much for documenting the work of women composers not just in #classicalguitar but in #classicalmusic overall.
Vale to a brilliant and brave soul. You will be missed.
Miserable stormy (and too warm) Sunday morning so I think I’ll restring and get some practice in before writing some code this afternoon. #classicalguitar
Really enjoying #seanshibe 's Profesíon. I'm not sure it's going to beat my listening record when it comes to Camino, or Dreams and Fancies, but it may come close...
