Just seen my sports therapist. She agrees with my plan to not run until September - longer if required - and replace my running sessions with a bit of cycling.

Sad. But immense relief also.

50+ year old body can't cope with niggles and injuries anymore!

That's me done for running. Injury isn't going away. Ultimately, I actively dislike it now due to the ongoing injury - recovery loop that's never ending.

I'll replace with bike rides for now and see how that goes.

For this week's #MeerMittwoch, we have the Europa (a Dutch three-mast rigged sailing vessel) ploughing through the Solent as part of the Trafalgar 200 commemorations in 2005.

It provides an insight into how this stretch of water would have appeared in the Age of Sail.

So it's been an unintended experiment with #Mastodon since I rejoined two months ago: I'm getting as much reach and engagement with 28 following/followers as with 700 - the amount I had the first time around. In fact, the quality is higher now.

I think the first time was on the back of my #Twitter exodus and treating this platform in the same way. Silly boy.

I'm enjoying it more this time around. I guess the #Fediverse is what you make it.
