Like back on IG and Twitter, folks I know are talking about #NoToSB147, opposing the proposed Texas law that would prohibit immigrants from China, Iran, North Korea, and Russia from owning property.
I’m just not seeing that on here, and it’s unfortunate.
Dammit. Texas Gov. Abbot is now also on board with banning Chinese immigrants from buying homes:
“…eyes have turned to Texas Senate Bill 147, which would strip citizens of China, Russia, Iran and North Korea of the right to buy land or property, including homes. Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, has already said he will sign it if it passes.”
We won in Texas, but there are bills in 12+ states.
Florida’s legislature and Gov Ron Desantis passed a bill banning most Chinese citizens—and most citizens of Cuba, Venezuela, Syria, Iran, Russia, and N Korea—from purchasing homes.
The law goes into effect on July 1.
