6.5kg of #cherries harvested from the tree. They should probably have been picked on Monday. I'll pit and freeze the overripe ones, and keep the less ripe ones for snacking! #christmas
Every cherry/almond extract-flavored cake I'm finding calls for fresh cherries. I don't really like fresh cherries in food, because they don't taste like all that much. However, adding Maraschino cherries would introduce a lot of extra moisture. Maybe I should just make a basic cake and replace half the vanilla with almond extract? I'll keep looking.
