By today’s Trumpian standards he seems mild. Even Obama praised him. Along with Lincoln, Republicans trot Ronald Reagan out every time Democrats praise their greats: Obama, LBJ, Kennedy, FDR or Truman.
Republicans regularly rate him their greatest after Lincoln.
In reality, the “great communicator,“ as he was called, was an impenetrable facade of congeniality who was hostile to civil rights.
Book mail!!! This is me starting the Forgotten Realms collection I paused in my teen years. Wish me luck. 🙃 Also if anyone knows a compete list of the series let me know! There's Fevre Dream thrown in I snagged for a book club as well. And boy do I have thoughts on that one. #books#bookstodon#bookmail@bookstodon
📖 'Smoke Gets in Your Eyes & Other Lessons from the Crematory' by Caitlin Doughty is an excellent book everyone should read.
Don't let the topic discourage you.
It's funny, sad, hopeful and comforting.
'"Morbid and illuminating" (Entertainment Weekly)—a young mortician goes behind the scenes of her curious profession. Armed with a degree in medieval history and a flair for the macabre, Caitlin Doughty took a job at a crematory and turned morbid curiosity into her life’s work' #read#Books
I've been concerned about the ROI on my book sales over the last couple of months - they peaked in May and then started dropping off.
So I did some analysis and noted that while my dragon books are generating a solid 50% ROI (that's good), my MONSTERS book was on a horrible -30% ROI (that's a loss).
It broke my heart but I cancelled the MONSTERS ads, and I'll be putting that money into the Dragon ads.

"Padgett is an ideal interlocutor: so deeply knowledgeable that little gets by him, but not so obsessive that his questions amount to mere data points. He knows how to follow up, to get that extra detail that opens new doors. And the tales he coaxes out are often great — and many haven’t been heard before at all, a rarity in the vast world of Dylan bibliography."
the wife is going for a swim on this fine saturday morning. i’m not really in a swimming mood myself, so it’s back into the #dune universe for me. i’m about two-thirds through #DuneMessiah, let’s see if i can’t finish it today.
Did a post of the #books I'm currently reading and listening to, as well as sharing a screen of the various ebooks sitting waiting to eventually be read (maybe) on my ereader
Today's indie author review! Bix Barrow's Head Over Feels
"Absolutely adorable. So much goodness wrapped in a gloriously fun story, with a nice mix of snarky and sweet characters... Excellent writing, beautifully flawed characters, and well-developed plot kept my interest to the very satisfying end."
