I still think the swipe down from the right third to get to control center and swipe down from the remaining ⅔ to get to notifications is a terrible UX on iOS. There is no/little affordance to their behavior.
Similarly, I cannot tell you what tapping the digital crown, side button, and swiping up and down does on the Apple Watch Ultra. I just cycle thru all of them until I get the screen I’m looking for.
Does anyone know where I could get these? These… anchors? That slide into the groove of the Apple watch. I can’t find a specific sort of a watch band I’d like anywhere, and anything kinda sorta is eithet too steeply priced or had shipping costs exceeding the item’s price.
So I’m wanting to get crafty and make the band myself, but I need these bits to attach the crafted band onto them and thus get it on my watch. #crafts#applewatch
My #AppleWatch looks like it is on its last legs. It is a Series 4 that I wear and use every day and the battery was already struggling to make it through a day. But now it is kinda freaking out. Randomly switching around like I’m tapping or swiping. I’ve power cycled, restored from backup, and wiped it clean and started fresh. That seems to indicate a hardware problem. Can I hold out until September?
@WTL@recollir I think I have only myslef to blame: 10k = 6.21317 miles, and I stopped the watch at 6.20, and that’s what my watch recorded, but #Strava reported 6.21 (?), and neither recognized it’s a 10K run…
More bizarre to me is how Strava interprets the elevation gain: see below from my recent #halfMarathon PR run. The route is pretty flat, so my #AppleWatch is definitely the correct one. Funny thing is this doesn't happen every time. Any idea?
@WTL@recollir Right after posting this, I noticed after tapping the three dot icon on the upper right in #Strava, I got this option “adjust elevation”. This appeared to fix the problem, although the result still doesn’t match #Applewatch’s.

I use the timer on my Apple Watch a lot. I find it frustrating that instead of pressing on the big “done” in the middle of the screen to stop the timer after going off, I have to target the small x button in the lower left corner, which because it is very near the rounded edges of the Watch’s screen, is even harder to target. 😒 (I just now saw the Done label isn’t even centered in the circle :smh:)
Has there ever been any published data regarding that time during the early days of #COVID19 when #Apple pushed out the #AppleWatch update that turned on the handwashing reminders — did it make a difference?
It's absolutely infuriating how often I raise my arm to look at my #AppleWatch because I want to know the time and it shows some other view where Apple decided to keep the top empty instead of including a small digital clock.
For fucks sake Apple. It's a watch. There should be a clock in every possible screen. It's already in the name. Please look up what a watch is Apple.
