Harry, 2 ans est un chat observateur et intelligent. Ayant vécu dehors, il a appris à lutter…
Il apprécie maintenant la chaleur d’un foyer : sa reconnaissance, par ses tendres caresses et son attention délicate, est touchante.
I wrote this post about adopting a child in Japan (specifically Aichi prefecture) a few years ago for Ben’s Retire Japan website. The details are still fairly relevant so it’s worth a read if you or anyone else is interested in the procedure.
“Unlike adoptions from foster care or adoptions that take place through the intercountry adoption system, there is no requirement for infant domestic adoption data to be aggregated and reported out publicly” #adoption
I think we all can agree that the main thing holding back the growth of kbin and lemmy throughout all of the reddit drama is a lack of accessibility. Kbin and lemmy both capture the spirit of reddit in their style and userbase, but really lack the ease of use that led to millions of people adopting reddit. Looking at the trends,...
Subject: What qualities in people can easily bring about them suffering trauma?
I'm composing a list...
Of things where almost everyone in that group, if asked, "Has being [...] led to you suffering significant trauma in your life?" would answer, "yes!" 😳
It's fun to talk about how much the other site sucks, but amazing things happen in the small communities that have formed there, communities that it takes time to build.
This is why I’m not leaving that site until it becomes literally unusable.
I don't want the "right" to adopt. Nobody should have the "right" to have children. "Parental rights" are 99.9% a smokescreen for controlling and abusive parenting. The adoption system is the legal sale and purchase of children.
We need #YouthLiberation not #adoption. Kids need multiple safe voluntary options for acquiring food, shelter, and education. I'd rather spend my energies on bringing that about than arguing for LGBTQIA inclusion in an oppressive system.
I’m adopted. I was born in August & literally seconds after I was born, I was separated from my mother. I was shipped off to foster care, & in November, I was “placed” w/ my adopters. When my adoption was finalized 7 mos later, my original birth certificate was amended to consist of lies—the original (accurate) doc was sealed & hidden away, & the amended (lies lies lies) version replaced it as my legal, official document. The only one I was ever supposed to see. +
& if I outlive her, when she dies, I’ll dance on her grave in a gorgeous red dress. She should never have been forced to grow & bear children she didn’t want, but as it turned out, she also never deserved the grace & unconditional love I gave her.
"...in order for there to be infants and children available to adopt, there has to be family separation. There has to be a crisis and loss. There has to be systematic disenfranchisement and a family left feeling like there’s no other way. Or a family having their rights violated. Whether the child is adopted by a straight couple or a gay couple doesn’t matter."
While Japan boasts one of the highest adoption rates in the world, the majority of those don’t involve children at all, but rather adult men. As of 2017, a whopping 98% of all adoptions in Japan were of adult men. Japan makes it easy to adopt men, and not always for good reasons.
"If you build it, they will come"
