*I want to briefly explain the meaning of my poem, as I feel it will give it more depth. My grandma has passed, but she sometimes will visit me. I know it is her because her distinct scent will come out of nowhere.

#WritersCoffeeClub 2/13: Do you ever write very short pieces (fifty words, flash fiction etc)?

I haven't in a while, but I used to run a monthly flash fiction challenge on my former forum/message board.

If you're interested, I could revive that on my Lemmy board. (But hey, who am I kidding?)

Flash fiction has taught me the value of finding exactly the right word for something. It always was fun.

@Firlefanz I would love to be a part of writing for a flash fic. Challenge! I only write short stories, but have never written something as short as flash fiction, apart from poetry of course, but that is its own entity. If you do start that back up, could you possibly keep me in mind to let me know, if that’s not too terribly much to ask? It won’t allow me to follow you on here.

#prayer
What does prayer mean to you? Why is important to you and your spiritual practice? For me, prayer allows me to gain peace and clarity by having a “God” filter to run my entire life through, at least the things I can control, and even things outside of myself, because Goddess is the only one who can take care of those things for me. Tell me how prayer is incorporated into your daily life?

@seanpatrickphd that is actually how I pray too! I have an altar that I go to to speak to Hekate. Prayer can look different to everyone. It doesn’t have to be talking to god, prayer could even be talking to your higher self! ☺️

@seanpatrickphd I also have a shrine to my grandmother that I talk to. I understand! Dont underestimate the power of ancestry and passed relative prayer. It’s very beautiful and powerful! If that is how you feel comfortable praying, then you are doing it just right love!

I want to start a discussion about the many benefits of journaling or having a diary. Most people, when they think of a diary or a journal, they think of a personal book that you keep under your pillow that has no depth and weight to anyone besides the writer. Think about all the diarists that made a huge impact on the world of literature today, and of history, such as, Anne Frank or Franz Kafka. How has journaling benefitted your life?
