Brandmauertage... Wenn sich Kretschmer, und netter kann man es einfach nicht formulieren, bis auf die Knochen entblödet, sich hinzustellen und öffentlich zu dozieren, im Grundgesetz stehe nichts von Brandmauern, dann hat er einfach nicht begriffen, dass das Grundgesetz selbst diese Brandmauer ist.

@piko Ich kenne die Syntax als typische Alternative zu f-Strings, da f-Strings ja ein paar Limitierungen haben bzgl. u.A. erlaubten Zeichen und Nutzung von Anführungszeichen zwischen den geschweiften Klammern. Also z.B. print("Antwort: {}".format("42")) statt print(f"Antwort: {'42'}").

Let's say I wanted to move my personal server from Arch to #NixOS…

Are there more modern webservers than nginx in 2024 that you can recommend from personal experience? Or is it still a good choice?

And are there alternatives to a dovecot + postfix + rspamd mail server?

Or calendar servers you like better than Radicale?

@blinry Regarding nginx: I really like Caddy (beware of TLS termination!) and Traefik for Docker-only setups.

Regarding calendars: radicale is nice, but if you are hosting your own mailserver, maybe use the SOGo webmail client and its caldav implementation.

@piko Das ist DSGVO mäßig sehr schwierig. Ich empfehle, einen Kündigungsbrief per Einschreiben an die Bahn zu schicken, ggf. noch mit Verweis auf die DSGVO.

@JoeRess There is also a more fitting German word: Schädel. Totenkopf is often used as a more symbolic word, like the symbol of a skull on pirate flags, while skull is more anatomical. c:

I am so infuriated by the pretty much non-existent subtitle culture on YouTube. I have semi-healthy hearing, which is enough for everyday things, but especially with noisy videos it can get difficult now and then.

And then there are channels which actively disable the auto-generated subtitles, which regularly suck, but (at least for English videos) are still better than nothing...

@protonmail Can we please stop using this as a marketing point?? Don't integrate your two-factor method (like TOTP) into your password manager! That effectively makes it single-factor, especially if you--like a lot of people--don't always lock your password manager after each use.
