A4) I think for me it's a question of time. One of my very first memories is of sitting quietly making a Christmas card (with lots of glue and cotton wool) while my parents moved us into our new house when I was two years old.

When you've been making stuff your whole life it just feels like part of you, and I'll always be a maker whether or not I'm actively making at any given time!

A2) I love to try and fit the idea into people's heads that actually, they can totally learn to make cool stuff if they want to! So I make tutorial videos and so on to that effect. And sometimes, it even works and I'll get someone telling me I helped inspire them to pick up a new skill. That's my biggest crafting joy by far!

Biggest frustration of course is those people who insist they're not "smart" enough to even try the new thing, but don't get me started on that...

A1) Hi all, Michelle here, multicrafter extraordinaire but mostly fibre crafts if I'm honest 😁

It's been a pretty unproductive couple of months due to illness that really knocked me off my game, but this week I finally completed these socks that were started all the way back in December!

Naturally I'm also halfway down the first leg of my next pair, because it would never do to be without a sock project on the go.

Pattern is Eskarina Socks by Rachel Coopey and needless to say I love them!

Illness update: Starting to come out the other side, but still not doing too well with the whole breathing lark. Trying to tell myself it's ok to take so much time off, but we never really believe that do we.

Also I am very behind on my Esperanto flashcards.

Normal service (and breathing🤞) will hopefully resume shortly. Hope you're all having a better week than me!

Ok, so. I have Covid. Didn't test positive for the first few days, but now here we are.

Feeling pretty ashamed of myself for letting my guard down, so if I don't post anything for a little bit it's probably just the humiliation and not that I'm actually dead.

Biggest indignity thus far has been that I can't actually get any crafting done because trying to focus on it makes me feel dizzy and sick.

Meh. See you all in a bit.

Well, not to double down on the insufferable complaining or anything, but I woke up today feeling even worse than yesterday.

Think I'm going to have to take the day...actually off work! Not the "off" that I usually do where I still work but just avoid the most annoying bits, but actually off 😱

Still! It's #Thanksgiving for our friends across the pond, and despite feeling "like death warmed up" as they say around here, I do have plenty to be thankful for. Today seems like a good day to join in with #3GoodThings.

• I have the best husband in the world who is only too happy to take care of me when I'm poorly but also all other times too.

• Extra football tonight! It's rough being a UK #NFL fan you always miss Thurs / Mon games because timezones.

• My old university hoodie is ridiculously soft inside and very cosy and it's exactly what's needed right now.

Listen up people, this is not a drill!

I seem to be coming down with something, and expect to be properly sick by the time I wake up tomorrow. I am the WORST at being sick, but self-aware enough to warn you ahead of time.

So until this resolves you can expect:

• Long periods of silence followed by like ten quick toots of increasing incoherence

• Rants about how sore throats should be illegal

• Disgusting descriptions of things I've tried to make into sandwiches to cheer myself up

• Generally me being personally offended that germs would even

• Probably more craft progress than usual, but not on any of the stuff I'm actually supposed to be making.

Got married back in April. Only just getting around to doing the bulk of the name changing now.

I'm genuinely considering moving bank accounts to somewhere with a more modern process, just to avoid having to go into a branch to change it on my existing accounts 🤔

Reclaiming Clay question

I have a lot of dry clay I have saved to reuse. Most of it is in smaller pieces, I’m working my way to making it into powder. I’m thinking of getting a rock tumbler to make small batches of powder since most of the pieces are pretty small anyway....

I tell you hwhat. Taking care of a dog who is usually housetrained just fine, but turns out to be very stressed out by being in a new place and is also old enough to not have much in the way of bladder control...kind of exhausting!

Reminds me of when she was a puppy, except when she was a puppy I was only 23 and had more energy. And also the puddles were smaller.

She's sodding cute though I can't stay mad.
