It started with TV. Accelerated a thousandfold with “social” (it’s anything but social) media.

The orcas seem to be only attacking much smaller boats, and only sailboats at that. Usually around 15 meter range. It seems to have something to do with the rudders too - they like ramming the rudders, and that’s where the boats sometimes start taking on water.

You’ve completely missed the point, which is that most of the world measures ingredients (like flour for instance, where one pint is not one pound) by weight and not by volume.

Water isn’t the only ingredient. One liter of flour is not nearly one kilogram. More importantly, the mass of one liter of flour varies a lot depending on how much it settled in the container. That’s why weight is always the better way to measure ingredients.

I made a joiners mallet. I’m trying to challenge myself by only hand tools. The wood was found in the basement; I think hickory head and I have no idea what the handle pieces are. The handle and head were each laminated and the handle was mortised in, wedged, and glued. I rounded out the handle with a spokeshave and rasp....

This thing is just a mosaic of ordinary CCDs. I’m sure the name has something to do with it’s specific scientific goals, but that’s not explained at all in this article. They didn’t even attempt to make any kind of connection between the veil and dark energy. Or even between supernovae and dark energy.

I can tell you know this, I’m just tacking it on for those who don’t:

Why do the nuclei stick together at all, once you’ve pushed them together? Because the nuclear force, which is attractive instead of repulsive, is just a little bit stronger. OK, so why then doesn’t the nuclear force just pull all atoms together? Because it is short range, and only works once the nuclei are “touching.”
