Glaciologist Alun Hubbard, who rappels into moulins to study the ice sheet from the inside, writes about how meltwater rivers are fracking the ice sheet and deteriorating its internal structure. It's both new research and a broad look at the forces speeding up Greenland's ice loss.

Flash #droughts are on pace to worsen in every major food-producing region around the world, new research from Jordan Christian, Jeff Basara and colleagues at the University of Oklahoma shows.

Their new study, in Nature's Communications Earth & Environment, looks at projections for flash droughts amid #climatechange under three emissions scenarios.
