The scammers pretending to be hot single ladies targeting Malaysian chinese-speaking users have arrived on Threads, and they fully understand that their audience love food pics more than boob pics.

(The food photo was in fact stolen from one of my mutuals)

Another scam account masquerading as a pretty & single Malaysian lady shares the exact same food photo.

So the latest 'woke' issue in gaming is that in Hades II, Hermes looks Asian. I'm guessing it was a choice by the American studio to include more racial diversity in their latest game. The Greek Gods in the first game were designed more generically white.

I mean, an 'Asian deliveryman' as the Herald of the gods sounds totally racist when placed a different context too.

Sigh, all these kinds of decisions are beyond me. It kinda breaks the immersion a bit, but it's a fantasy game in an 'alternate Greek world', why can't people have fun race bending characters? It's not like being white was critical to the plot or gameplay. It's all just flavor text to the game.

So there's an award-winning film named Snow In Midsummer that's widely discussed in Taiwan and elsewhere at the moment, it's about Malaysia's 13th May racial riots, an event that my mom experienced firsthand and which is only discussed in hushed tones. Not sure if it'll ever be aired in Malaysia.

#MakanApaToday Honolu Ramen.
The meal overall has some great flavors, the soup was thick, the gyoza was juicy; just wished the ramen was a little bit warmer and the gyoza had more of that pot-stickerness to it.

Because of the nail polish talk I see on my TL, I wanna rec my fav nail polish brand! The Ueba Esou Gofun Nail series~

I don't like my nail polish staying forever, and this nail polish brand has one day nail polish series (you can literally tear them off after dipping your fingers into warm water). Plus, it doesn't smell at all. No stink! And all natural products (if that matters to you). They stopped shipping for a bit during the start of Covid but I think they are shipping internationally again now.

One of a few things that I’m grateful for not having to experience (as much) in JP : crazy confrontational cultists.

Yes, you got the Fuji Mountain guys, Soka Gakkai, Happy Science etc., but the Western imported cultists like the JW & Mormons are surprisingly not very in-your-face.

(This is personal experience, so take that with a grain of salt.)
