Imagine if the stock market disappeared tomorrow. Do you think we'd really be worse off? Surely, some would. But in general, would we really be worse off?

I am not a #nodejs programmer. I know it's JS for backend stuff, among other things, but that's about all I know.

I need to set up some machines for an internal customer that have NVM and NodeJS and Angular.

I found an #Ansible role to accomplish this… but it says to clone in into the "roles" directory of the project.

#git gives me hives, even though I'm not a beginner.

Is repo-in-a-repo okay? or am I just asking for trouble?

Rainfall coming down partially frozen in Bethany, it’s trying its best to become snowflakes. As you look in the distance, the globs are large, but I hope the effort to transform to snow fails. Obv too warm at ground level at this point. #pdxtst

Running your own e-mail server might seem complicated and geeky but will you trust those US based megacorps managing your digital existence once Trump gets elected? Especially when you’re not an US citizen? I decided many years ago.

@vwbusguy @mattdm We do HDHP+HSA too, and it's still crazy expensive. $1421.36/mo. for family of 3. I'm also maximizing HSA contribs every month. $3200/$6400 for individual deductible.

I'm not sure who the target market is for #Proxmox.

If it's targeted to homelabber's who ENJOY tinkering with what will be the basis of most/all their other compute stuff, they're doing a great job.

Me, I use the homelab stuff for a mix. I don't want to fight with a hypervisor just to get it to boot. (this was my multi-day experience).

I ran screaming back to #VMware. I got back to 90% working state. (still have VMs to build, all non-Win11 machines just work)

@geerlingguy Random #rpi5 question for you, sir. Ever hear of desktop UI working, and just stop working with no config changes? Ubuntu 23.10 desktop install on mine, and it was working. Now, I get no video at all, even terminal boot. I can SSH in just fine.

Zoom wins this decade’s Dropbox Award. A trailblazing app that never escaped the “feature not a product” trap, doomed to be eclipsed by larger platform holders who could include its hallmark feature “for free” as part of a bundle of related functionality.

Everyone I’ve asked has either dropped Zoom or is in the process of dropping it to save money and complexity.
