Runs great on my Steam Deck so I know it runs in Linux with Proton.

Bit of a click-bait headline but still interesting. #Mastodon

TL;DR: Mastodon being federated means each instance pulls link previews individually, potentially this can result in a “DDoS effect” due to the server load of many instances requesting the link preview. (The post is still worth a read)

Sounds like they need to work on a peer-to-peer way to cache and share link preview data between instances so sites only get a few requests for link preview data per day.

Does anyone have any experience keeping folders synchronized on #macOS using a tool like Hazel? Thanks in advance for any advice!

My use case: I want to use #Obsidian for editing my website content (markdown) and sync with my #Eleventy website's /content directory.

Why?

-Using my Eleventy root directory as my Obsidian vault is very messy and causes slow iCloud sync.

  • I only need Obsidian for editing the /content in my website BUT vaults are only allowed in the /Obsidian iCloud Drive folder.

@robb @johnvoorhees I see this screen a lot also. I currently have my Eleventy website (Nova + Obsidian) in my iCloud Drive and I feel like that’s not sustainable... 😭 iCloud is good enough 80% of the time but it really sucks the other 20%.

Weird... My iPod Shuffle Shortcut seems broken on macOS 14.3.1, (Music.app 1.4.3.27) but still works fine on iOS 17.3.1.

Can anyone confirm? Need to see if I can fix.
