@luckytran My dermatologist today asked why I was wearing a mask and when she had me lift it she seemed to spend a very long time checking that part of face and asked several questions as if to ensure I couldn’t hold my breath while her face was inches from mine.

We've finally cleared our main garden of all our inherited plants, except for the yucca. Assuming this is common yucca / Yucca filamentosa, it is native to just south of here, like Virginia, so I think of it as helping the plant move north ahead of global heating. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yucca_filamentosa

Also, I'm told that previous owners have tried to kill this plant multiple times and failed dramatically (it looks very healthy). I try not to pick fights I expect to lose.

@skyfaller Did you add anything special to the soil for the blueberries? I understand they can be hard to grow.

@skyfaller Sounds like you’re on top of things. I should have known. I’m in touch with a botanist in Michigan who grows wildflowers from all over the US by altering the soil in areas of his garden so he can grow almost any species, bogs, woodlands, meadows etc. I remember that pine needles were among the things he suggested to create acidic soils.

I watched part of a press conference by the World Meteorological Organization and had to stop. Too many things being shown that are unprecedented and unexpected even after factoring in the effects they’ve been seeing. Phrases like unusually warm and even worse than 2022 kept cropping up. It wasn’t helping with the goals my therapist set for me. :-/ Like increased optimism.

So, as of now I’m a week out from my last dose of antidepressant. My doctor’s office and I have been filling out documents, jumping through hoops, and finally today I get a call saying the med was authorized. haha when I spoke to a member advocate (after 2 calls and 45 minutes) she told me they’re ready to send a 3 month prescription. “That will be $6400. Would you like to use your credit card?” I had to cancel that so as of now I am antidepressant-free for the foreseeable future.

This is hard. My #Tumblr blog has been a main focus of my life for at least a decade. I’ve posted thousands of posts, almost all original photos, and the blog has over 100,000 followers. It felt like the one worthwhile thing I was continually doing and to delete it seems incredibly painful. But leaving it in a place that has partnered with #Midjourney feels too much like consent. How do I parse this?
