Giving people some water and/or a granola bar while they’re waiting in a long line to vote isn’t going to sway their choices. Banning it is voter suppression, especially in areas where Republicans try harder and harder to make it difficult for people to vote.

I totally believe that they are tasty. But what I know as marshmallow is not so similar to krembo, though. Perhaps marshmallows are somehow a solidified version of the filling of krembo? In Germany we have the German version of krembo in every supermarket (the original is Danish). I like the Israeli ones better, but they're close enough.

If I were to buy a new laptop with some version of newbie friendly linux preloaded, intending to use it for music and graphics arts (not gaming), social media, and regular LibreOffice type stuff (and affinity, audacity, etc), what laptop would I buy with what version of linux?

A Lenovo laptop since Lenovo officially supports Linux.
Regarding the Linux distribution, I'd probably go for Ubuntu, since the default client installation has most of the things one needs and most if not all of the hardware spotless work out of the box. Also, when things go south, there are many answers online. Only pay attention to use a LTS version. If the intended user is a Linux newbie, I'd avoid all "exotic" meaningless distributions with very few users.

A quick reminder to all that if you say "I support Jews but not Zionists", this is still a form of antisemitism, because:

  • Being against "Zionism" means you are against the existence of the state of Israel, and being for its destruction means the death or forced expulsion of 7 million Jews

  • It's part of the "Good Jews/Bad Jews" trope

  • That being against >80% of any group is ultimately indistinguishable from hate for that group.

Israel needs to fucking finish the job. Go into Rafah, smash the shit out of Hamas, while minimising humanitarian casualties. But get it done. There's no future for either Palestinians or Israelis while they're allowed to continue to breathe air.

That's the thing: Israel getting into Rafah would probably not solve any problem. Solving the Gaza problem requires strategic thinking, something that the current govt (Bibi) is incapable of. The one thing that can be done, letting the PA rule over Gaza, is something that Likud and all other current and even temporary coalition partners have categorically refused to do since it would lead to Weltherrschaft establishment of a Palestinian state.

Da muss ich mich fragen, wieso so viele möchtegern AktivistInnen ausgerechnet im linken Auge blind sind. Seit dem 7. Oktober herrscht eine enorme Antisemitismus-Welle weltweit. Das ist nicht zu übersehen. Ich sehe Deutschland als fast das einzige Land, das was dagegen tut. Verharmlosung vom Antisemitismus über MigrantInnen und Linken ist nicht der Weg.

Attributing an more power than it really has, e.g. an immense military capacity whereas the Palestinians are poor indigenous "firing pipes", when these "pipes" (that gets from , btw) make significant portions of Israel practically uninhabitable for civilians, is antisemitic and in no way different than attributing the Jews world dominance.
