Our neighbor up the road from us called and said his battery was dead in his truck and asked if my husband would take him over to his farm. I told him just to leave Moose home. He sat in the driveway watching the road for his papa to come home.

When I was 7 years old my father took me, my sister, brother and two cousins to Six Flags. I remember seeing a sign that said: Steppenwolf in concert. I thought to myself: Who's Steven Wolf. I didn't even know how to say their name. Magic Carpet Ride was on the radio and made me remember that. Music brings back different types of memories with each song that's played.

Ring-Neck pheasant in the snow, watercolor. These birds are so majestic. When I lived in the midwest, I'd see them out sunning themselves when driving on country roads.

But if you do consider adopting or buying a pet ask yourself: Who will take care of it? Will I have time to walk it, change the litter box, remember to feed this animal. Also, how big will that cute puppy get? Think about how your life will change before you get an animal.
