Is there anyone who can explain the technical differences/connections between #kbin and #lemmy to me?

If I make an account on one, do I have full access to the groups on the other? If I want to look at the equivalent of r/gaming, are Kbin and Lenny each going to have their own /gaming, or is the one I see shared across both?

According to JadedUser2940 on Reddit, the #SegaGenesis / #MegaDrive has now been discontinued in Brazil. Yes, it was still supposedly in active production as of earlier this year!

Thus brings an end to an amazing 33-year run in Brazil for one of the greatest gaming consoles of all time.

Fifteen years later Theresia still hangs clearly in my mind.
Every scream, every drop of blood, every spike going through a hand. All still there.
An experience that I would wholeheartedly recommend to fans of the visual novel/punishing the player genre.

Here's your #SegaSaturn fun fact of the day!

When crafting the Saturn 3D Control Pad, Sega's design team decided to make the new controller's cord removable.

That way, when not in use playing games, owners could fly the pad around pretending it's a new prototype Starfleet vessel from their favorite #StarTrek series!

@ronald Oh no, that's the worst way to think of the Saturn! Sega of America really made a mistake with that controller. The Japanese version, which finally came West later, was so, so much better.

Who else pre-ordered an Analogue Duo?

I have four original PCE/TG-16-family consoles (TG-16, PC Engine Duo, SuperGrafx, Turbo Express) plus two FPGA devices that can play these games already, but the Duo just looks too cool to pass up.

@thevowel I ordered a JP version even though I currently only own one TG16/PCE physical game, Ys Books I & II, because I am a total moron.

Well, also because a long-running dream of my has been to own an Duo-RX, and now this will be the next closest thing.

I really do regret not having kept at least a few of my old TG16 games instead of selling everything, though.

• a few years of Switch Online + Expansion Pack
• a used OG Genesis
• a Mega Everdrive Pro
• a bootleg copy from Ali Express

…and have four ways to play the game AND still enough money left for a very nice meal.

Found a neat looking 14” Toshiba Blackstripe TV from the late ‘80s at an estate sale over the weekend for $5.

So, now I have two CRTs in my home office. Because I am an idiot.

(The newer Toshiba is clearly the better option in terms of image quality and inputs—14” only has mono composite and RF, while 20” has up to component. Yet, there’s something kinda neat about the retro-ness of the Blackstripe when combined with older consoles.)

@OutofPrintArchive Wonderful game that never got the proper chance it deserved.

I got to play it before launch, and what was interesting was how much of the online integration got pulled after the game released and the servers all went to hell. I’m not sure if all of that functionality even ever came back.
