A friend of mine just shared this because some random bigot on his FB was kicking off that the Duo owl would be pro-LGBT+ rights ("I'll DELETE THE APP!! OMG"). Obviously this is hilariously tragic and bigots should fuck off but I feel like there's a deeper question that needs answering here.

Namely: why does this owl have tits?

Is the Duolingo owl... a mammal?

I’m shocked that Skydance Media is buying Paramount Global for $8B!

Especially since Paramount’s current market cap is $8.9B. Just a few years ago, their market cap was $35B. And just a few years, they merged with Viacom.

This is the company that owns CBS, Showtime, the Star Trek franchise, and more.

I feel that $8B is a pittance for that entire media portfolio.

You know who mostly owns Skydance? Larry Ellison’s son, David.

I really hope that when labour gets into power they follow through with the abolition of the leasehold system. Seeing that money leave my bank account each month and getting nothing from it but the right to live in my own home, that I own, is so depressing.

I mean I've been trying to get them to fix the drainage outside for more than a year. If I could just get the right to fix that myself instead of paying the council to not fix it that would be great.

This is another tone deaf AI pitch from a tech CEO. A valuable feature for workers would be intelligent summaries of meetings you didn’t attend.

A deepfake me that can attend my Zoom calls and make decisions is at best hype and at worst insulting to other meeting attendees.

I’ll make him a deal. I’ll use this tech when Zoom’s CEO uses this tech to attend Zoom calls for earnings reports and his leadership meetings so he can spend more time with his family.

@NickGates @paul_aman He definitely talked about the temporal cold war off handedly. He also had a lot of knowledge about the history, details and inner workings. Still surprising giving the timeline they are in.

Also going to not make a ton of sense to the Ben and Adam since they just started in on TGG.

Eldest is applying for a mobility service dog. We'll likely be waitlisted... but if they get a dog, then I have to rehome my dog based on the requirements of the Org we are working with.

I love my kid. I love my dog.
There is no choice here that doesn't lead to both sorrow and joy.

This is where I say every swear word I know in my head, and only offer support to my kid out loud.

Sight, while being something something many people are born with, is not an innate ability, but something we learn to do. People who were born blind or were blind for a long time, who get sight, have to learn to see.

Below a certain size things don't have colors. Colored light has wave lengths and if you are too small to absorb or reflect it then you can't be "seen" in color in the traditional sense.
