Writing the most basic implementation in that is compatible with shared hosting. I've seen some other great projects, but I needed a "call this function with a simple message" functionality for some existing websites

Dear Internet friends who use Linux. I use Mac OS X, and I expect to for a while yet, but it's sensible to look for a plan B, and the alternatives are getting better over time.

What is the closest thing to https://www.alfredapp.com with similar attention to detail with regards to stellar UX and the like?

I value my time, and don't mind paying for stuff - I'd totally buy into something like https://setapp.com for Linux apps if it existed. I haven't found anything similar yet though.

@mrchrisadams Albert or Ulauncher are good options. I just looked if there are others, and the most recommended is Cerebro, but that looks to be an electron app. I don't like electron apps.

I have used Albert in the past, but usually use the gnome panel.

@adrianmorales hey, I'm not entirely sure on what to think about it. I use ai for coding daily, it saves me a lot of boring grunt work. That can be frowned upon, I know! But what really amazes me is what can be done on accessibility.

The GitHub copilot works amazingly when you're visually disabled. And that's close to home for me due to my illness.

There are very good uses, both personally and professionally, and I see and agree with most concerns. So I'm torn a bit!

@Billie I'll ask if he knows where they're from, but we've had them since I was little. So they would be at least 30 years old. But my dad used to run a rural hardware / farming store, so they might have come from anywhere. (We are located in Friesland btw)

@superbij hoewel gras gewoon een populaire onkruid is met de nuttigheid van een stoeptegel heb ik nog wel wat tips:

Gras er uit. Bloemenweide mix er in, of klaver mix er in. Klaver ik kun je net zo behandelen als gras en is wel nuttig.

Mocht je per se gras willen: gefeliciteerd na de bodem verbetering door bovenstaande acties kun je over 2 seizoen alles weer er uit halen en gras zaaien

@janwillemswane in een vooral online wereld vind ik het niet heel schokkend. Het is meer een goed dat onderhevig is aan verkoop net als andere goederen.

Het geldt bijvoorbeeld niet voor een bibliotheek, dus in principe blijft alles verder toegankelijk.

Het zal niet de populaire mening zijn, maar iedereen wil wat en het geld moet toch ergens vandaan komen

@janwillemswane och tsja laaggeletterdheid neemt al jaren toe o.a. door digitalisering. Die 12% verhoging maakt daar vast niet veel verschil in, want kosten zijn volgens mij niet de oorzaak van het probleem. Het zal vast niet helpen, maar een plan om laaggeletterdheid aan te pakken lijkt mij nuttiger.

Lets talk about myself for a change because I should put myself out more.

I've become 36 years old today. I strongly prefer this new year to be better than last. I went through a divorce, got into a depression and only recently started to love myself again. I do not wish this upon anyone.

I'm picking myself as the priority from now on. I will have fun again and find passion projects. I'll take care of myself, my surroundings and my kids. All other stuff comes after this.
