The issue is most residential users have asymetic lines, where their upload speed is barely 10% of their bandwidth. Downloading from a nearby peer may be slower than downloading from the CDN anyway.

A dishwasher tip specifically for those of you in North America:

Your dishwasher expects to be filled with hot water. If it takes more than 15 seconds for the water at your kitchen tap to get hot, your dishwasher may be washing with cold water for much of its cycle.

If your dishwasher seems kinda meh, try running the kitchen tap until it's proper hot and steamy before you start a wash cycle. It may make a huge difference.

@alda @TechConnectify last time I was looking for a dishwasher, I stumbled upon a dishwasher which had both hot and cold intakes in Currys. Having never seen this before, I promptly called my parents to ask if it was a good idea. My logic was “hotter water = betterer”.
Thankfully they steered me away from using hot water intake. Their main point was; “Why heat water for a whole house and use a fraction, when the dishwasher can just heat the amount it needs?”

@christianselig wow, the NFT’s and avatar skins must not be doing so well; who’s have thought? #Apollo is orders of magnitude better than the first-party app. Unfortunately for #Reddit, that won’t change even if they kill off Apollo.
