I got the Shingrix shingles vaccine on Thursday, and I definitely felt some side effects yesterday (fatigue, chills) but I’m pretty confident it’s way better than actually getting shingles.

@overholt @LillyHerself it is the second shot that is a killer for side effects (intense joint pain in my case) but everyone says actual shingles is the worst pain they've ever had so definitely better etc.

Are Mastodon users really happy with thread behavior? So, for example, this post had a lot of replies, but even if you look at it on the original instance you can't see any of them. You can see my reply to the post on my server, but it is no longer connected to the original post. So it is often impossible to read old threads (& of course even to see all replies on a current one).

What is the best web browser if it comes to ?

@carrideen or anyone: Has anyone noticed glitches with posts being detached from their threads? So, on my own instance I can only see this as a detached post, but (even though it is my post on my own instance) I can see the same post with responses on another instance if I go to a reply & then click on the original post as it appears on that instance. I have seen this with other threads on other instances.

I'm looking for a book with good practical advice about plotting and organizing longer works of fiction that does not revolve around the five-act format or hero's journey

Ideally something with lots of examples and exercises, like ursula k le guin's "steering the craft" but less about sentence and paragraph level writing and more about larger narrative structure

@hannah The first five or six pages are kind of insider lit-crit talk, but after that I think Umberto Eco's "Six Walks in the Fictional Woods" is really interesting and not very concerned with rising and falling action, etc.
