Car key fobs should be extremely difficult to activate in one’s pocket and arguably remote start should be the only thing that functions beyond like 10 feet. Or the dang things should be configurable.
@jmichaelward So I am gonna be That Guy and point out that this is not a tech issue but a process issue. Setting aside that it was a key fob, whenever you change the battery on a remote don’t you immediately verify that it’s working correctly?
@jmichaelward I am in agreement that what happened to you sucks. My own process for when I change the battery for my key fob is to go out to my vehicle and verify every button works as expected. Is it annoying to do it? It absolutely is even though it is a 30 second walk to my garage.
If people are not going to the movies anymore I have a crazy idea, hear me out, what if studios start doing small, well thought-out romantic comedies and dramas instead of the 300 million dollar CGI shit fest we have been getting during the last decade?
@maxalmonte14@ramsey You are giving them too much credit. They are just copying what worked before because they have no concept of a future for their industry.
@maxalmonte14 You never know what might be relevant from a meeting. I’m here to work too and those meetings are opportunities to find out what other folks are working on. Maybe it will impact you later. Shit-posting about meetings is fun too
American friends — if your former President is saying that he did nothing wrong, what is the explanation his lawyers gave for the payment that was made to Stormy Daniels? I haven’t followed any of this stuff because I cannot vote in American elections.
One week ago, I watched "20 Days in Mariupol", a gripping film when Russia started the full scale invasion of Ukraine.
At times, I had to pause watching it as it way too much.
The extraordinary cruelty of targeting civilian infrastructure made it even clearer to me that we're doing way too little to help them. Restricting what the Ukrainians can hit is stupid policy.
Any strike on a civilian target MUST be able to result in an appropriate response. Make the suckers pay for it.
@sarah@derickr Your own country’s army has committed war crimes for 40 years and faced no consequences, in fact passing a law that says they will invade The Hague if any US soldier ever faced war crime charges.
Other countries see that and now understand how the game is played.
A lot of people* ask me "if you still DJed now Jim, what on earth would it sound like?" Well, I sold my decks earlier this year, so that's never happening again, but Spotify does exist. This is what it would sound like
