gravitywell,

Isnt that basically what a number of kodi and stremio addons do?

gravitywell,

However, I don’t get why you would ever use Lidarr. Why would you ever download music using torrents? You can use tools like spotdl and yt-dlp to download songs from YouTube music and Spotify, it’s faster and more reliable; I have had some issues finding torrents of music from less-known artists.

I make use of deezeloader, deemix and/or streamrip, which is what I use because unlock Spotify deezet, qobuz and tidal (supported by streamrjp) have true lossless flac audio available.

Lidar can be extended to work with them instead of torrents.

gravitywell,

How do you mean they are spamming?

Mint is a good alterative. It has an xfce edition.

gravitywell,

Sites that give this option usually explain more detail about it. I pretty much always reject nonessential, since they tend to be advertising related.

gravitywell,

Since FLAC tend to be around 1444kbps I use 144kbps opus and that makes them abour 10% of the size.

gravitywell,

Not Compatible with what exactly? It works on my 20 year old ipod using rockbox, any modern players should support it.

gravitywell,

Cake or Stack wallet are both good options. Built in options for swapping to xmr

gravitywell,

Using a live usb is the correct answer since compiling a custom initramfs would require one anyway and just add more steps… Not sure what gives you the impression using a liveusb is “more complicated” but its not.

gravitywell,

Mail carriers are not idiots, they just discard the thing as trash since its obviously not an envelope… Business reply mail will only ever be paper letters, so what you actually want to do is just send whatever it is back to them with useless information or if its an actual envelope you can stuff it with glitter or shred the paper inside, its still technically “improper use” but they won’t know that until its at the destination.

gravitywell,

This is a tough situation because the more changes to settings you make the more unique you will appear. Less is more in this case, libre wolf or Mullvad are both good Firefox based browsers with good defaults. My biggest recommendation to add is a cookie auto delete plugin, or if you dont need to keep anything logged in even better just have it delete cookies on shutdown.

gravitywell,

Keep trying, check protondb for the games you want to play, popos is probably the best, or garuda has support for nvidia out of the box

If nothing else just try back once or twice a year whenever you see a new release from the distro you want to use. The 1660 is a pretty common card so in general it should be well supported.

gravitywell,

Can you upgrade the desktop? What speed is your laptops WiFi?

I just use rsync manually until I have syncthig working but these don’t really solve slowdown issues and aren’t mounted. I would look into a better NIC and/or storage for the desktop or possibly your router.

Try using something like iperf to measure raw speed of the connection between your 2 systems, see if its what it should be (around 300-600mbps for wireless to wired locally) and try to narrow down where the bottleneck is.

gravitywell,

Frp or nginx are both available on openWRT to do what you want.

gravitywell,

Depends on your use case but I found a plugin to use openai for dictation in obsidian

gravitywell,

Does your device have a headphone jack?

gravitywell,

You can get torrents full of the archives from sites that used to host tabs for GuitarPro and pirate that software, the one downside is , its like tens of thousands of tabs so its a bit much to organize.

Songsterr seems usable to me with adblocking on, Also I often just search YouTube and find videos with tabs displayed.

gravitywell,

I’d just host them in a library only visible to mom and members that would want to view it.

Also consider the unintentionally comedic value of such films, they’re sometimes fun to watch just because of how bad they are.

gravitywell,

Jdownloader2 is the the best, I’ve not used anything else for years.

gravitywell,

Glad you found what you need. Ive never needed any browser plugins to use JDL2, it just works with copy and past and monitors your clipboard,

gravitywell,

Linux Mint Debian Edition if you find Debian itself too intimidating.

gravitywell,

The nvidia 1650 can’t do AV1 but it can handle hevc just fine, I’m currently using a 1660 on mine and before that it was a 950. Unless you need more than 3 steams at a time you should be able to get it working.

gravitywell,

thank you! Ive yet to hear a single story from anyone who’s actually defaulted and had wages garnished for student loans. Sure it can happen but its pretty rare.

gravitywell,

Interesting to hear, and yeah one of the main issues with garnishing someones wages is, even the government has to do a bit of work to actually track down your employer and people who default on student loans don’t tend to have very good employment (i’m not at all arguing you shouldnt pay them if you can actually afford to, just that you shouldnt go out of your way for it if you’re struggling).

I wonder how much they got from 15% of that one employees wages, I’ll bet it was less then they’d have to pay to actually pay off the loan… and of course if that person ever changes jobs they have to track down the new employer each time. also wonder how common it is for wages to be garnished over say child support compared, or back taxes to student loans…
