Hey Dungeoneers, Shattered Pixel Dungeon v2.4.0 has been released!

v2.4.0 features a new category of item: trinkets! They are more about tweaking gameplay variables than giving direct power or utility. There are also a bunch of smaller additions and tweaks, most notably to the Duelist and to Alchemy. Be sure to check the changes screen for full details.

@ShatteredPixel Yeeeeah, the moment I see one I try to kill using ranged attacks or running to a door. I just started, I'm pretty bad at dungeon crawlers honestly but this one is so convenient to play on mobile :_) Awesome work.

@anze3db Personally I've been using Hetzner for years and I don't have any issues with them. Not as many features as others for the VPSs but enough for my needs. I think I can give a referral link that gives 10 EUR in credit if interested.

A question about fountain pens. Are watercolor inks safe to highlight with markers or brushes (like tombow abt)? I had to highlight something with a brush over the cheap one I bought (to test out if I would like fountain pens) and it left the trail even when days had passed since I wrote it. Since part of my workflow involves marking this is a deal breaker for me, but I have seen people doing watercoloring over fountain pen inks so... there must be a way?

36 years in, this is the first time I have written with a Fountain Pen. My high school literature teacher would be impressed. By me using it, not because of my handwriting.

@blaise Thank you! I still think is not "pretty", but I hope it will improve as I move along with it. My only problem with it is that the "0.5mm nib" is too thick for my taste, but it seems that smaller ones are very difficult to write with?

@paradoxmo I bought some cheap ones to test out how it feels, but I have seen the LEMY Safari that uses cartridges, and I saw a cool TWSBI that you could load manually with a spring, for when I'm ready to that to use gorgeous inks. What's your pen of choice? Any suggestions for a beginner?

@paradoxmo Honestly I got this pack where the thinner is 0.5 but it's still too thick for my taste (I have 1.0 ballpens thinner than this fountain 0.5). But those are also more difficult to use I guess, since the nib is so thin you could scratch the paper? Honestly I have no idea, literally yesterday was my first time using one.

@paradoxmo I will take a look at those, thank you! The main notebook I use it's an A6, so a thick line means bigger letters, etc. That's why I write so small 😅

The new text for "Unlisted" in the Mastodon.social compose box is so bad that I'd ask if it would have been better to just remove the feature.

I saw some Github discussion about this redesign, most of which lead to a very large number of people objecting to the PR's original text of "Low-key public". Although I guess this feedback was listened to, it doesn't seem to have really helped.

Some changes in the new compose are, I think, on balance for the better, but this one is really distracting

Looking for advice from the #Fediverse #HiveMind...

I want to monitor a server on my network. Simple up/down monitoring. Reason being is that I'm having problems with my internet at home, and I wanna see how often it drops out. UpTimeRobot offers 5min intervals for free, but their paid plan is $7/month. That's more than I'd like to pay for something so simple.

Any recommendations please, folks?

Mastodon hive mind, I need your help!

We're trying to setup a Mattermost webhook so it spits out a notification in MM every time a new report is created. Any idea how I'd form the JSON here? There's absolutely no documentation on webhooks for Mastodon.

@kev Id say you send the default json to a httpbin service like webhook.site to check the payload and work from there. If you need help on the MM side ping me.

I'm in the middle of a small refactor in the frontend for a project I maintain. Just found out the size of font-awesome (54KB CSS + 2MB+ in fonts) while we only use five icons. I don't know a way of shrinking it to only the icons we need without doing it manually (which is a hassle for me and for everyone that would come after me). Anyone knows an easier way of doing this or an alternative font that provides it? #css #less #frontend #fontawesome

@mike Technically speaking, the source code of the changes of the Vivaldi browser over Chromium are available here: https://vivaldi.com/source/ it's just not tan convenient as having a repository on github with proper documentation.

@Gina @mike no idea tbh. I mean you can ask for a coffee with milk and get different things in different coffeeshops too, tbh. what I meant is if what you want is a Capuccino, you can just ask for that. Worst case scenario they don’t make a proper one and you just get a coffee with milk instead.
