Does anyone have a simple idea of using a gopass output as an #ansible vault instead of just as the password TO a vault.

So i'd like to put all variable settings e.g. a yaml into my gopass and include it instead of putting vaults into git repos.

I fail to find a (compatible) way of including variables from script output, or using an external vault application in ansible.

I already use a gopass script to fetch the vaults password, but i feel its a bit clumpsy to maintain a vault in the ansible git, and maintain the vault password in the gopass git.

@jpmens gopass is basically a git/gpg command line based vault. Possible team password management. You can store arbitrary files in there although thought as a keepass similar password manager.

Got it to work with 10 lines of python in a vars plugin.

New customer using user logins + sudo and i am not going to type my sudo password over and over again using their ansible stuff.

My sudo password is in my gopass, and ansible may access it.

For no obvious reason whatsoever, AmiTCP (a third party port port of the BSD IP stack to AmigaOS that was used a bunch) enabled the chargen service (a service that just sends printable ASCII characters as fast as possible) and had no firewall so back in the 90s you could just DoS Amiga users by connecting to port 19 on their machine and they'd saturate their uplink and ping out of IRC and not everything in the past was better

@mjg59 the Internet was not such a hostile place back then.

I had a bunch of A3000T running a BBS and they were connected with Arcnet and and AmiTCP. Real mail came via uucp over IP from a Linux Box on the same arcnet also Handling the analog leased line.

This is why i got into Linux. Linux got its IP stack and it was more reliable from day 1. didnt really touch another OS since then by my choice.

AmiTCP was a great stack for the time. It simply worked even with Dialup SLIP stuff.

    Ich befürchte eine große "Antikommerz" Bewegung die Threads ausschließt ... Dann kann Meta das wieder abschalten mit dem Hinweis das ja die Fediverser das nicht wollen.

    @vowe ich sehe eine gewisse Parallelität zum Aufstieg und anschließenden Niedergang von XMPP.

    Erst alles Hurra, dann "die Nerven" dann wurde es bei Facebook (deren Messenger ja mal XMPP federiert war) wieder abgeschaltet.

    @p3m1r0 @tagesschau den Auswirkungen nach ist das ein klassischer Ransomeware Angriff. Microsoft, Mail, Privilege elevation, lateral movement, AD Übernahme, Group Policy deploy, verschlüsseln. IT aus machen.

    Wenn der Geschäftsführer einem mitteilt man solle die realen Arbeitsstunden nicht stempeln weil man dabei Arbeitszeitverstöße dokumentieren würde, und man dann einfach 9-5 stempelt ist das dann Arbeitszeitbetrug?

    Und wenn ja von wem an wem?

    Ich Frage für einen Freund, ich als Freiberufler darf mich beliebig ausbeuten.

    Mal davon abgesehen das Kündigen das einzig angebrachte ist bei so einem toxischen Arbeitsumfeld.

    @isotopp ordentliches Ladegerät ... Ich empfehle BC700 ... Hat einen refresh Modus der dir dann nach entladen/Ladezyklus die Kapazität anzeigt. Ich hab jetzt teilweiser 10 Jahre alte akus da durchgeschoben. Die meisten waren noch super.

    Finde es schwierig, alles unter der Größe von Berlin's kleinstem Bezirk "Großstadt" zu nennen, vielleicht muss man diese Definitionen von 1887 mal anpassen?

    Minimum demnach 250k Einwohner·innen. Eigentlich eher so 500k.

    Thinking of adding a coding style rule to some of my projects that bans unsized integers (int, short, long).

    Char will be allowed for manipulation of strings (since every platform I target has 8 bit characters) but otherwise stdint types only.

    Thoughts? Also, is anyone aware of a gcc/clang compiler flag or f/oss linting tool to enforce such a policy?

    @azonenberg I like the stdint types a lot but for performance reasons one would like to use the native into size of your CPU. Nowadays that's mostly 64bit. But that's a "recent" development. Sometimes you really want a native type.

    @larsmb probably we need an RFC on how to signal text/markdown without breaking it been Simple text/plain. Sending the same twice as an alternative seems bogus.

    So we need some MIME extension on interpretation of text/plain ...

    Or am I missing something?

    @mjgardner Its not a matter of functionality - I know how to work around and i do that already. It just found it astounding that i can segfault perl within 5 lines of code.

    And i like to instantiate my perl Packages with something like

    sub new($class, $args) {
    my $self=clone($args);
    bless $class, $self;
    return $self;
    }

    So i can pass random stuff to the object. Now with passing a dbh handle this segfaults.

    @ralphruthe wenn man es Technisch betrachtet wird das Signal to Noise ratio bei Twitter täglich schlimmer. Ich komme mit Stummschalten nicht hinterher.

    Es sind halt zu viele orchestrierte Bots die Unfrieden stiften.

    @isotopp ich hab mir als grobe Richtschnur gemerkt, doppelte Temperatur, halbe Luftfeuchtigkeit. War mal für entfeuchtung von TK Equipment in outdoor Gebäusen wichtig.

    As a reminder, W3W is a proprietary and for-profit system which shouldn't be used anywhere near government or emergency services. It is prone to catastrophic failure and their business model appears to be unsustainable.

    After several failed attempts using a complicated technique, I successfully sewed a simple pattern to make a SMD resistor phone case. I forget to fully include the seam allowance in the size computation, so it just barely fits my phone. It makes a nice set along with my PTH resistor glasses case!

    A cutting mat with two small zipper bags on it. The glasses case bag in the background looks like a 47 Ohm through-hole resistor with a zipper in the tolerance stripe and the phone case bag in the foreground looks like a surface mount resistor with black body containing the number "103", and silver faux leather ends, with a zipper in one end and small D-ring attached to one side.
