Strangely, I owned no death metal on vinyl until last night. I ordered the Degraved EP from last year, Whispered Morbidity. It's one of my favorite metal releases ever (and now there's only 1 left, you can grab the last one here - https://degraved.bandcamp.com/album/whispered-morbidity)
It should arrive by the end of the month. It's this beautiful blue/teal kind of vinyl. This is the stock photo from the site. 😍 Will get photos when it arrives of the whole deal, cover, etc.
@wendigo@jake4480 That is probably the weirdest idea ive heard in a while. I have a friend that runs a record store and he gets people selling vinyl that was never played, they just used the download code or streaming. It was decoration for them.
They should do a version of the show "The Price Is Right" but have all boomers as contestants and have them try to guess the prices of the basics needed to survive in the modern age.
@rasterweb it’s a class issue. Although I’m probably a target for being a contestant I buy things so I know what they cost. Some quality joke material there.
I’m not offended by boomer, I just don’t care for generational stereotypes. You know like GenX is lazy.
@rasterweb@roo_44 agreed, I work with a lot them. Know a bunch of Y’s as my kid is one. His friends are all pretty damn impressive but they’re all still in school.
Anyone have something you tried to post not show up for you, but it clearly posted and shows up for other people? It had no hashtags, wouldn't be muted - I had figured my instance blocked or rejected it because it was about Russia. I even tried posting it again, and I couldn't see either one. But now I know they actually DID post, only since someone replied to one. WEIRD.
I was talking to this guy about his job once and he said things were going great, and he had just got a raise. He told me his secret… He read the documentation. There was a huge manual at work that covered what needed to be done (rules, regulations, and such) and he said he was the only one who actually read it.
I remember this even 20 some years later, because I’ve spent the last 30 years of my career writing documentation that I’m always convinced no one reads except me.
@rasterweb I’ve chopped help documentation out of apps due to less than 1% of people using it and the cost of keeping it updated was not something the company wanted to pay for. In usability testing 5-10% of people read any documentation at one place I worked. That was financial applications.
@rasterweb I wouldn’t say that. They just want to get their task done. Something like banking most people are just trying to see if they have enough money to cover something. Now if I do my job well or was allowed to you shouldn’t need documentation. On the other hand most companies do not want to pay for user end documentation. As for 30 pages of terms and conditions it’s too much of a task for most when they need an outcome.
The customer who had issues with my design choices continues to not be satisfied. I have offered a refund if they return the item, after more support messages, of course.
Honestly if someone wants a refund and they do a return it can be easier than trying to support them in some cases.
@jake4480@wendigo I’m in the video somewhere. The Odd Rock was often oversold, saw a lot of bands there Soundgarden, Faith No More, Death, etc. lots of punk/hardcore bands. A rival club owner call the cops…
These are going to be hot takes for some of you. Matchbox 20 might be my most hated band ever. Ear garbage. I hate Rob's voice. Same with Blink. Hate em. Grating, goes right through me.
I hate all of these artists fully, but these songs are maybe my most hated from them. Can't even believe I'm posting links to these gross songs but here we are 🤮
@jake4480@wendigo@neurothing the Red Hot Chili Peppers are my most hated band. Blink is frat-bro pop-punk and the one guys nasally voice is grading. I guess I know Matchbox 20 but all the middle of the road ‘rock’ were poop; Train, 3 Doors Down, Dave Matthews, Bare Naked Ladies. Current pop singers I couldn’t tell you about most, I know ‘fireworks’ but I’ve heard it a handful of times. Maybe I know that Lady Gaga song but I heard little pop music these days.
@wendigo@jake4480@neurothing no need to justify anything you enjoy. I get a bit hyperbolic with my opinions. I also am sure there’s something I enjoy that turns your stomach. Please take no offense.
