The good bit about the NHS in Scotland, lower population and all that, is when you need an X-ray you just go to the nearest hospital that has an X-ray unit. None of this wait for an appointment letter delay(maybe that's improved in England) . So off for some prime radiation dosage. Blood tests next week, head swap in two weeks. New batteries fitted while I wait. Replaced by more efficient toaster in a month.

It's still surprisingly hard to play music through an android phone that's stored on a wifi connected home NAS. But Winamp on the laptop does it with ease. I can remote control the laptop with AmpWifi, but the laptop is in the sitting room and me, the phone, the bluetooth amp and speakers are in the kitchen.

Don't you dare say "Plex".

Well that's a first. Somebody asked me a random question in a dream overnight that has caused me to find out more about my answer. I was asked by strangers in a park if I'd ever met anybody so posh that I couldn't understand what they said.
I replied yes. A man named Dr Pugh who I was told was part of the successful UK based climb if Everest in 1953.

Sunny but windy out there. Walked (and coughed) my way to one of those wonderful "everything and the kitchen sink" hardware store / pet shop, cheap tat type shops I've never been in. I grew up being sent by Dad to get various things from a similar shop when young run by people Mum knew from school, now a husband and wife team. He looked just like Deforest Kelly (Bones from Star Trek). Whenever I shyly presented Dad's written list I prayed for "I'm a doctor, dammit not a hardware shop salesman"

I have seen exactly one episode of Thomas the Tank Engine and it's the one where they punished a locomotive by walling him up inside a tunnel forever. Never felt the need to watch another, lol.

It's kind of the exact opposite of that story where an excavator gets stuck down in a hole and eventually gets converted into a stove or something in the basement of the house they built on the spot.
