DIY stucco repair - repainted around the new sliding glass door. Will see how it looks as it ages, blended this into the existing stucco in hopes it will age better. #diy#stucco
If the Microsoft Windows 11 PC (which I am forced to use for client/work) is any proof, every Microsoft AI feature added to the OS is subtracting 15-20% of the productivity from your employees. 🙄
@ai6yr I have a Win 10 Pro machine. When clicking search I kept seeing an offer to try CoPilot, I OFC ignored. Then I found that I could use group policies to disable Copilot. User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Copilot > Turn off Windows Copilot. Machine keeps naggin me to update for free to Win 11 but so far I have resisted. Need to figure out if I do that if I can still disable #Microsoft#Copilot and IF they are going to give me Win 11 Pro not home...
@ai6yr New nag from Microsoft to upgrade to Win 11 : It's time to upgrade your PC before end of suppport which they say arrives Oct 14 2025 - which they say means no tech support (that's fine) or SECURITY UPDATES (boooo!) after that date. #microsoft#windows10#windows11
@ai6yr Man that sucks! The main reason I bought a machine with Win 10 Pro was so they couldn't force updates on me, you have some control over delaying them and choosing.. enough time to see if an update is messing people's PCs up and then I can wait until a fix is issued...I so regret not learning Linux when I had the time although I guess it's much simpler these days.. so that may be the way to go especially with all the crap I keep hearing about Win 11. ..
@ai6yr Ok that is good to know. The only thing I came out of the fire with was phone, keys, & PC which I yanked as window above desk exploded. It should still be good, need power cords, maybe some ports. It was Win 7. Caregiving and the rebuild have eaten up leisure time.
Looking for current antivirus recommendations in the US please. I haven’t kept up and sites I use to rely on for info have deteriorated. Wish I had time to learn Linux. I use Malwarebytes; is the Windows Defender really enough? Want to get away from bloatware like Norton (crypto miner) & avoid spyware (Kaspersky, Avast). TYSM for any input #Antivirus#Windows#Malwarebytes#Software#cybersecurity
Ok so I uninstalled the Norton after it expired. Now just using Malwarebytes Premium & Windows Defender.... First time I am "trusting" Microsoft to keep me safe... Here goes nothing. Need to figure out if I should change the setting in MBAM to always register MBAM in Windows Security Center or not... #antivirus#malwarebytes#MBAM#WindowsDefender
@wendinoakland@B_Whitewind@ai6yr@mjausson Yeah sorry for the confusion. The STAT article contains link to this study : https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2405495 “The animals showed signs of illness starting on day 1, including ruffled fur and lethargy. All the animals survived until day 4, when they were euthanized to determine virus titers in multiple organs..”
“We detected high virus titers in the respiratory organs (which suggests that infection may have occurred through the pharynx) and moderate virus titers in several other organs, findings consistent with the systemic infections typically caused by HPAI H5 viruses in mammals. Detection of virus in the mammary glands of two mice was consistent with the high virus load in the milk of lactating cows, even though these mice were not lactating.”
